Guk73 11-09-2001 11:37 AM

I'm up to the point now that I can get Cernd. He seems to be pretty good from what I hear, but I'm pretty used to Jahiera. I've been using her since the early goings in BG1.

Any suggestions as to who is better? And why?

Sir Exxon 11-09-2001 11:54 AM

I would choose Jaheira, cause she is just as good spellcaster as Cernd, and she is a usable fighter to.

daan 11-09-2001 11:57 AM

Though i dont see jaheira growing claws and rejuvenating with a
25 cons. ....

BALROGBANE 11-09-2001 12:04 PM

Cernd is far superior to Jahera.

One Word "werewolf".

Sir Exxon 11-09-2001 12:06 PM

You might be right about that, daan and BALROGBANE, but Jaheira can change to a wolf and both brown- and blackbears.

And your point is?

Ok, Cernd may have an advance there. But I still thinks that Jaheira is the better choice!

BALROGBANE 11-09-2001 12:13 PM

Seriously though Cernd's level moves up quicker and he kicks mind flayer but as a greater werewolf.

hagimihale 11-09-2001 01:38 PM

Are greater werewolfs immune to psionics? Why is Cernd that effective?

Jordi 11-09-2001 01:51 PM

I am wandering around in Chap 2 (loving it, my first time playing) as an Archer. I have Jaheira and Cernd (and Aerie, Minsc and Yoshimo). I feel like I need more muscle up front. Using the druids as animals deprives me of their spell casting and tehy don't seem to be able to take much damage.

Should I drop one of them? What NPC should I pick up for some good fighting and high HP?

Also, is it _possible_ to get a druid up to 14th level and take over the grove? Would One be better? I dig the idea of getting a druid that high in levels. But Cernd is only level 10 and level 11 seems so far away.

Sir Exxon 11-09-2001 02:09 PM

I think you should drop Cernd, and pick up Keldorn. He is a good fighter, and he has several good abilities such as true seeing.
If you want the druid grove, you must be a druid yourself, and be level 14.

Jordi 11-09-2001 02:18 PM

Where is Keldorn?

Should I trust you? Are you a keldorn-pusher?

BALROGBANE 11-09-2001 02:21 PM

Forget Keldorn! Go for Korgan!

He kicks Keldorns Ass.

To get Keldorn, you must agree to help the Temple of Helm. You can then find him in the Temple district-sewers.
And believe me, you can trust me. Why else would I be a member in Keldorns Order if I didnt knew about him?!

And you must not follow BALROGBANE's advice! Because Korgan and Aerie will start to fight, so if you want to keep Aerie, dont choose Korgan! (And BALROGBANE, Keldorn would kick Korgans butt if he was equipped with Carsomyr+5)

Aerie sucks anyway. Kill her and get Edwin.

I KNOW Korgan would smite Keldorns holy behind all over the place when equipped with Crom Fayer and any half decent sheild.

Sir Byronas 11-09-2001 02:41 PM

Sir Exxon is right (I will remember that Exxon!). Keldorn's is a really good Paladin. When you find gauntlets of dexterity give them to Keldorn and he will be a killin machine!

Sir Exxon 11-09-2001 02:43 PM

Yeah, a much better killing machine then Korgan!

Sir Exxon 11-09-2001 02:45 PM

Hey, Sir Byronas!
I just discovered that we both have the same things in our sigs! We both have one from the Keldorns Order, and one from the DragonMage family! :D :D ;)

BALROGBANE 11-09-2001 02:49 PM

I think your both somewhat biased both being members of the bum licking order of Keldorn.

Sir Exxon 11-09-2001 02:55 PM

Watch your mouth, BALROGBANE!
The Keldorns Order is so strong that it goes beyond your imagination! You are soon on the same level as Omegakiller and AngelofDeath, and if you have paied attention, you will see that Omegakiller is just recently defeated by the Keldorns Order, and we can do just the same to you.

Sorcerer Alex 11-09-2001 02:58 PM

Jaheira is much better than Cernd, provided you give her the girdle of hill giant strength. She then does between 15 and 20 damage, can wear full plate mail armour and a good, heavy shield, plus she can cast lots of spells.

And Keldorn is pretty good too, but not brilliant. I prefer Anomen.

How can you hurt something that feels no pain?

Well, pain is only a minor detail...if you chop him up in little pieces and bury them along the whole sword coast, he won't be able to do much damage :D

Sir Byronas 11-09-2001 03:24 PM

Oh by the Helm here we start again! Excuse me, why all the enemies of Keldorn's Order cannot feel pain? Why do we have to fight always undead creatures?

BALROGBANE 11-09-2001 03:44 PM

Who said anything about being undead. I simply ment that this is viertual and not physical.

BALROGBANE 11-09-2001 04:00 PM

What the dickens?

I think you need to have a reality check?

Barloc 11-09-2001 06:13 PM

Reasons why i choose Jaheira over Cernd (doesnt mean that shes better though)

1) She can cast spells because shes usually in normal form (bear form sucks), and If Cernd wants to cast a spell, he has to change from greater werewolf, cast, and switch back to WEREWOLF (that is with the max cap without ToB)

2) Can wear armor, she has -7 AC as opposed to Cernd's -2 AC
3) She can wield high +dmg thaco weapons
4) Shes at the beginning

Cernd levels up faster. Anyone konw what a greater werewolfs claws are counted as?

Guk73 11-10-2001 07:14 AM

Thanks guys for all the suggestions. Still undecided but I think I'm leaning toward Jaheira.

Your welcome, Guk! :D A great choice! I promise, you will not regret it!

Lord Exxon, I'm impressed. My main character is a Paladin. How can I join Keldorn's Order? If it's kill a dragon, I've killed 2. By the way, I can't stand Korgan. It's interesting that he fights with Aerie, but if he did that in MY party, I'd kill him, myself.

Sir Exxon 11-10-2001 09:22 AM

You sound like a great paladin to have with the Order, Galadria! You also have great qualifycations to. What you do is to tell our leader Sir Byronas that you would like to join the Order. You do that by do the entry test. You can find this at www.angelfire.com/realm2/byronas/Becomeme.html
Answer the questions, and mail them to Sir Byronas, along with your IW-name. The subject is Entry test for Keldorns Order. Sir Byronas will mail you in a few days, to let you know if you are a member or not.
Let me know if you are accepted.
GOOD LUCK, MAN! WE NEED MORE MEN LIKE YOU!
