What is your PC? what gender race class kit(if any) and level? I'm currently doing a Human female fighter true class and im lvl 12 or 15 dont remember exactly and I just barly enterd Underdark, which brings me to my second question, is 12-15 a good level to have a fighter in underdark? Am I really bad and should have been there sooner? or is it pretty much were im supposed ot be?

Fuzzy Animal 10-05-2001 11:11 PM

My favorite was my character from BG1
carried over, my Human Male Conjurer.
In my opinion you want to be as high
a level as possible when entering the
underdark, its kinda tough.

Since I'm a role player I really love playing half-elves and elves. Rangers are most definately my class, no matter the kit.

Elven, or half elven ranger, I like playing all the kits.

My second favorit is prolly a Paladin, I dont know anything about the kits, so I'll have to screw around with them to see which i like the most, any opinions on paladin kits?

Cleric/Mage (d/c) elf Male

ScottG 10-06-2001 02:09 PM

Kensai/Druid (dual) Human is my fav. (tough but fair)

the easiest to play is:

Berzerker/Cleric (dual) or Ranger/Cleric (dual) Human

Half elf thief

andrewas 10-06-2001 06:07 PM

half-elf , cos you get infravision. yes i should have been a dwarf, but i was in a hurry and after finishing the Nashkell mines its a bit demoralising to have to restart just cos youve looked thru the manual again.
fighter - bhall spawn are supposed to be rock hard. and i dint really look at the weapon profiency table.
no kit - i play all the way thru from BG1 each time and prefer to keep the character straight the whole way thru. (Nb is it possible to move the BG2 kits/races to BG1. or better play BG1 in the BG2 engine and get higher res and more exp)
male - Boy with no Brains and Boy with Big Head tend to laugh 24/7 otherwise. since theres no game-play difference (cept to the romances) i dont really care.

about the underdark - im level 16 (cept imoen whos level 12) and have got thru the mind flayers and most of ust natha. currently doing the kua-toa and am getting killed at the demogrogon. if your good enough 15 shoudnt be much of a problem. i think the designers expected us to go to spellhold at ~400000 exp cos imoen had exactly that when i rescued her, but i cant see me getting through it at that level.

Male Elf Bladesinger. Goes by the name of Kevryc Crymson. Same D&D character I've been using since 1990.

My favourite BGII PC was a human female skald. I love to role-play bards.
When I am not playing bards, I usually go for Paladins or Rangers, although I might try a druid next, for a bit of a change. For BGI I played a female Paladin for ages.
Unfortunately more often than not I play a male PC because I get fed up being lumbered with Anomen making moves on me every game... *sigh* http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...s/rolleyes.gif

When I last played PnP my character was a bard.

Elf (for the charm resists and dex bonus)
Male (I'm not that much in touch with my feminine side)
(Wild) Mage (nothing beats dropping cows on target's heads, as rare as that happen) or Sorceror (just so I don't have to keep resting and re-memorizing).

The character I'm playing through BG1 now is an elven mage that I'm going to kit into a wild mage after I install BG2 and ToB. He rocks.

Elf sorcerer. I'm playing a male this time because I made the mistake of naming my last character after my girlfriend and it was somewhat odd whenever that character died.

I like the resistances that come with being elf and I love the new sorcerer kit. The spells are too much fun to miss out on.

Those are the kits I played so far and completed the game with. There are many other kits I have tried before and completed with too, but these 3 kits are my favourites.

Ranger( Archer) is a close 4th.

Half-orc cleric. Not something you would normally use but very good in combat when tanked up a little. I'm never sure what I should be when I play so I go random.
