I personally favours the Paladin-kit Cavalier, they are servicers of the good, they are good fighters, they have a few cleric-spells, have good resistances, and can wield the Carsomyr!!! </font> see ya! |

I do agree tho that the Cavalier kit is great, i love the immunities |
Do monks count too because i have killed a red black and silver dragon with quivering palm
|
straight up paladin carsomyr and lay on hands help as you progess
|
Kensai or Cavalier. Maybe cavalier.
|
I say Cavelier too, its the best Palladin kit and gets alot of bonuses
|
Cavalier? Nah. Inquisitor. His true site is very helpful, same with dispel magic
|
I might of said a monk before but i take that back its got to be the barbarian
|
For rping, plain ol' fighter. Otherwise a monk :D . Powergaming..gotta be dualed Kensai!
|
I am a Cavalier man my self, although monks come a close second.

Best solution is to be a Cavalier, then add Keldorn to the party. Only one of you can wield Carsomyr, but Keldorn comes with a pretty nice sword already. You may say, "why are cavaliers so important, when you don't encounter that many demons and dragons along the way?" Two answers: 1. The latter you get into the game, the more demons you run into (in fact, from the Underdark on, they get more common). 2. In ToB, your guys can go up to 40th level. Don't you think they'll throw a bunch of demons and dragons at you, since you eventually become more powerful than Elminster? So for paladins, goes Cavaliers, then Inquisitors. For rangers, Archers then pure class (I'm playing an Archer now in ToB, and he gets 4 attacks a round with a THACO of -28). For warriors, Berserkers then Kensai (Berserk ability is extremely useful, and Kensai is great as dual class to thief or mage). Never played a barbarian, but I've heard they are very good. Monks are awesome at higher levels, but take a while to get off the ground. I guess it all depends on how you play, and what you like. |
Personally, the Undead Slayer. It's true that you do go up against many demons. However, you also go up against just as many Undead and two people killing them is better than one...
S P O I L E R With my Undead Slayer, I gave my Amulet of Power to the next NPC in my group so that I would have an easier time killing level draining monsters. The Baldur's Gate Fan Fiction Archive |
Either an Archer or a Cavalier. Very different play styles, but both kick butt.

Kensai can be awsome, especially when dualed in TOB to a mage

i say berserker. it used to be barbarian, but berserker is much better IMHO. barbarian is immune to backstab, and gets d12 for HP's. plus his rage gives him +4 strength, and makes him immune to alot of powerful spells. i laughed as kangaxx tried, and tried, and tried again to imprison my solo barbarian, only to fall to the might of my flame-tongue, lol. eventually i got crom faeyr, and my barbarian was amazing. berserkers have pretty much the same abilities though. they can rage, and they get a +2 to hit and damage, +2 to ac, and extra hp's. plus they are immune to the same spells as a barbarian. the only difference is that they can wear heavy armor, giving them a slightly different advantage. all in all, i would have to say its a tie between barbarian and berserker as my favorite. my berserker/mage is a bad-ass too however........

playing a thief mage at the moment, the variety of spells and abilities makes it really quite fun.
