A good thing I cant see any stars then. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Try something completely opposite from what you've played before... try a fallen-paladin for some real RPing. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

hehe...Perfect char ye say?
Well...'Tis not an easy question! and everyone will have a different response 'cause it depends on the style you most like to play.
But the char I had the biggest fun playin' with (and which I liked the most) was my totally crazy Chaotic Neutral Elven thief/mage...

Horatio 09-28-2001 05:03 PM

The possibilities... hhmm, this may take careful consideration.

Encard 09-28-2001 05:25 PM

Either a Half-Orc Berserker, a Human Wild Mage, or a Halfling Assassin. Bwahahahahaha...

Lord of the RaBid Fruit Trees. ChAos rules all! Bwahahahaha...

Very, very, very much agree. I went through the game the first time with a Cavalier (named "Bubbles"). The second time I tried an Archer (named "Clover")
and was annoyed at how little the game changed.

Playing a Neutral Evil Sorceror, though, chagned things quite a bit. And playing a Neutral Evil Jester is a blast!

Bubbles? ROTFL! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/hihi.gif
Not the kind of name I usually associate with righteous paladins! http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

How about trying a solo Druid on Insane difficulty? I finished the game with this a short while ago... and it WAS a challenge, and quite enjoyable. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Let me just say one word: Sorcerer. And now I shall leave once more.

StarVid 09-28-2001 11:52 PM

or, how about this...human cleric dualed to a mage at level 9 or 13? I wonder who would win in a battle between that and a sorceror. The clerics have some pretty decent support spells. Plus, you can cast summon undead at level 3 instead of 5. With all the undead in the game, it's not a bad idea to have a mage as a supporting cleric...

at least, that's what I think today. Tomorrow, you'll probably hear me singing songs about another great combo...

Mahlennacht 09-29-2001 03:41 AM

...how about the least-admired kit, just for ha-ha's? I hear that Beastmaster is pretty unpopular - maybe Totemic Druid too?

On the other side of the coin, I read one player's post making a big case for Berserker/Cleric being the "best" class. I forget when he dualled; 10th??

[Wizard Slayer/Mage really does sound wacky - might not be possible anymore with all the fixes, though - a mage that can't use magic items? http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif]

>JEROME: Solo druid on Insane?! U R Studly indeed - I can't BELIEVE all these Soloists - OK that's it; I'm definitely going to try soloing now - just need a PERFECT CHARACTER first...

Rikard 09-29-2001 04:16 AM

Cleric/Necromancer Multiclass
I always wanted to try this
But i have to finish ToB with my old party first
If you want the PERFECT character
I would say

Berserker level 9 dualled to Mage

str.18/??
dex 18
con 12
int 18
wis 9
chr 6

Dak'kon Zerth Sword
Celetrial Fury
Robe of Vacna
Braches of AC 3

You can replace one of the weapons for a Crom Feayr

But i don;t like playing this one

Totemic druid to be exact. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
But I wouldent reccomend that class to others, the summons are great for the first few bits, but later on they're useless. http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no.../hollering.gif

Try having a completely evil party. It does make the game more chalanging, and you never know, there might be an extra twist in the tail......

ok these things i have not got-
FALLEN PALADIN
WILD MAGE
what are thay and how do i get them??

floyd 10-02-2001 05:20 AM

if your paladin's reputation drops too low, he gets kicked from the order and becomes a 'fallen' paladin. Loses all his powers, basically a weaker fighter now (AFAIK).

The wild mage is a kit only available with the exp. pack, Throne of Bhaal.

I found an interesting take on the BEST character to play in this thread. Have a look (warning: this is a very long discussion, but lots of good points are made).

Oh ok takes alot to get a perfected char but i'm sure you'll manage http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...les/blitz1.gif

Lin Sivvi the Paladin 10-02-2001 10:55 AM

How about an inquisitor?? Or a paladin?? They are surely the best characters in the game! With the sword Carsomyr or any good two handed, they're just unstoppable!
Or start with fighter/mages, they're fun, spells+knuckles!
