I created my own party (female swashbuckler, female sorcerer, male fighter, elven archer) and had no troubles early on but soon found i had to many ranged attacks so picked up minsc and korgan to see which i would keep.........i like korgan but his evil alignment is going to throw me off..my rep is at 16 and im only halfway throw chapter two...so who's more worth it to you Korgan or minsc...??

Legolas the Elven Archer 09-12-2001 02:48 PM

Unless you're evil, which apperantly you're not, take Minsc.
The thing with the evil NPC's is that they're only good at what they're good at.
Minsc is good at fighting and a good laugh...

But, In your case, I would switch between the NPC's, and Minsc doesn't have a personal quest so Korgan may be more interesting. Then, you can dump Korgan and take another NPC with you.

I prefer Minsc myself http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif He's a great loony, and he has Boo too http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Minsc seems like the better fit for your party...

starloc 09-12-2001 04:12 PM

I have played both, and without a doubt Korgan is a much better fighter. Give him the dwarven thrower, stonefire axe and Crom Feyer, and then get out of his way! Minsc does hold a soft spot in my heart, however. I still get all teary-eyed remembering the time Minsc single-handedly mowed down 3 giant bolders and 2 gauths while in hell. Wow what a sight that was!

By the way Oldbittercraig, feel free to come over to my cabin for some evermead with tannis any time, although watch it when you first come in because he seems to have a tendancy to shoot anything that moves with his cross-bow of speed.

Minsc. Much more fun. And Berserker is handy.... if you remember to use it, lol!

I would pick Keldorn over either Minsc or Korgan. His true sight and dispel magic are soooo incredibly valuable, its no contest.

how bitter am I? Depends on who you ask, I guess.

DEADMAN 09-13-2001 01:21 PM

Minsc and Boo for pure entertainmet.

Ace Flashheart 09-13-2001 06:25 PM

Get some points in duel weild and try Crom Fey and Stonefire. Even better when you get ToB Crom Fey and the +5 rune axe (Mace of disruption replacement).

Death on a stick.

Getting Minsc to convince "xxxx" that you were insane enough to be admitted to the Asylum was just hysterical.

Have to say that Minsc's humor factor would offset any combat disadvantages to having him on board (but i think that he's better than Korgan anyway)...

waverider 09-15-2001 08:37 AM

minsc but i prefer keldor but if i shoul chose
minsc or keldor minsc

Well I have Keldorn & Minsc - both fab. My party has 3 tanks (me as a fighter), Aerie, Jaheira and Yoshi (Imoen). This has worked fine for me.

I like Minsc's oddness and the fact that I forget that he isn't a fighter. He and Lillacor go well together.

I usually take Minsc in my party. Keldorn is just too much of a stuffed shirt to be much fun to have around for long...plus I always play a "tank" as my main character, so Minsc and Anomen are all the tanks I need...I end up needing more mage power.

BTW...Minsc does have a personal quest. It's the Umar Hills Shade Lord quest. Delon approaches him and gives it to him if he's in your party.

I was under the impression that Minsc taking over the conversation was simply because Minsc was there, just like the other times when having a certain member in your party would cause a different dialouge. I never noticed you couldn't start that quest without Minsc.
Then again, I (almost) never play without him http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
I'm glad you've corrected me on this.
