You won't lose rep for killing Drizzt; as for the mage, just have your rep high (and I mean high) so that when you kill 1 innocent your rep will NOT drop too low to deem you to be "fallen".

thanks accord! i decided on the ranger. i figured he would be the best going into bg2 also archer kit sounds good!

Don't worry, you're not the only one. The massive amount of class is the only reason that I haven't finished Bg2. In bg1, it did the same thing. I start a game, and a few weeks later, I want to try a new class.

That is what game editors are for! You can switch characters everytime you play and still advance the game.

Of course, I'd only do that after you'd already finished the game.

The best character class is an Illusionist/Thief, you have to go Gnome but it the only way you can multiclass with a specialist mage, and gnomes get suprisingly high thief bonuses, certainly worth a try !

Time is only relevant if you have none !

Accord, strange.... when I killed Drizzt in BG1 (OK OK it was just to sate my curiosity/for fun, I promise!) my rep dropped ten (!) points!

Yeah Melusine, youre right, rep drops when you kill him.

The thing is that rep loss depends on your alignment and/or the reputation you have before doing the deed. For example, a evil guy with a low rep will lose less reputation than a good guy with a high rep. For a nice example of this, try starting a game with a evil guy and another with a good guy, killing Firebeard Elvenhair in both of them (though its not an easy fight http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif)

You up ?? Beware !! When falling, better fall from down

dimon37 05-11-2001 05:55 PM

Try dwarven fighter/cleric with 18 wisdom, 19 con and good exceptional strength. Put 2 stars in missle and blunt. The game does not have a good cleric - all clerics have max wisdom 16. Also, if you read all wisdom books (including the ToSC one) you can get wisdom up to 21!!!!!!!
