I'm a little confused. I'm in Ust Natha, and I've just finished all the quests for the Matron Mother. I've got Phaere's fake eggs, Solaufein's fake eggs, and the real ones are still in the Temple of Lolth. What do I do from here? Do I steal the real eggs and run for it? Give Solaufein's eggs to Phaere? I'm really confuffled with all these eggs, so could anyone tell me what to do with them? Thanks http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

jep thats realy easy you go with thieve that hide in shadows in and replace the fake by real eggs

Yep thant's what you do. Get the real eggs and keep them. Give Phaera, Solferuin's eggs. And put Phaera's eggs in the Temple. Then wait and goto the ceremony.
Remember you can't get out until the Mother Matron dies.

It still doesn't work. Everytime I try to hide in shadows or cast invisibility, the guards still say 'you have trespassed on Lolth's property' or something and attack me. So I can't complete the ritual and get out of Ust Natha http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/frown.gif

Just kill the gards and make a run for it!!!

Sorry Guards not gards http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/noncgi/smiles/eek.gif

follow up question (actually a prequel). You have three options to get the final ingredient for the ritual- the Beholder lair, the Kuo-toa lair, or the Illithid lair. Do you have the time to do all three or is this quest another of those annoying timed ones.

Just asking as I'll probably hit that quest tonight...

Sorcerer Alex 09-05-2001 02:15 PM

I'm sure you can do all three quests.

You need only do ONE - the rest are optional. For example, I did the Beholder (easiest of the lot, with the right equipment http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif ) then did the other two when I was done with Ust Natha.
Beware! the mind flayer one is the toughest of the lot.

I'm bumping this again because I'm really desperate for any more help people can offer me. I keep trying different tactics and nothing works, so if ANYONE can help me on this, please post!

I had one of my Clerics cast Sanctuary and then they walked in and took the eggs without the guards even noticing.

Starkiller 09-07-2001 03:21 AM

Originally, all that you had to do was keep hiding in shadows, but I had the problem that the guards kept alerting everyone too. I think it came with the patch/tob. What you have to do is as soon as you have opened the door behind them the two "egg guards" will become hostile. They are specifically designed with hardly any hit points, so kill them quickly and quietly, and then hide in shadows, or become invisible again. The staff of the Magi is great for this. Then, killing the golems is your option, you can sneak past them, but you MUST kill the two egg guards, or they will alert everyone. As for the 3 options quest, I did them all before I even entered Ust Natha, and then just tossed her the Illithid brain saying something offhanded like "I think I picked that up earlier" or something. The reaction they give you is great http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif, Phaere and her mother are so surprised.

Thanks Starkiller and Alaric, also for your help in my other thread too http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

I went ahaead and did both the Kua-Tuo and Beholder portions... the rewards were too good to pass up.

I'm debating coming back down to the underdark later in the game (if possible) and wiping out the mindflayers, too...

Rather you than me pal http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

The Mind Flayer Dungeon gives you one good item and some other decent stuff.
