what are the top 5 characters that you can create in BG2

Hmm, I would be curious to know how a bard could possibly be more powerful than a kensai, monk, berserker, or virtually any other character. They sorta suck.

1.Assassin - They are fun to play and can do lot´s o´ backstabbing damage!(plus that mages won´t be any trouble when you use some poison on them) http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif
2.Sorcerer - Powerful... That´s all I can say
3.Undead Hunter - Many undead in SoA and you can use Carsomyr too http://www.ironworksforum.com/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
4.Berserker - Especially if you play as a dwarf since they fit the class best!
5.Conjurer - The best specialist mage

I´m NOT putting out the monk, since I don´t think that he fits to the story. Plus that they are power gamer characters... I HATE MONKS!!!!

1)Conjurer(Summons are the most powerful spells IMO)
2)Fighter/druid(Druid who can wear plate, sweet!)
3)Assassin(Tons of fun and DMG)
4)Berserker(The ultimate tank)
5)Undead Hunter(holy sword+tons of undead stomping=nice character)

These might not be the most efficeint characters, but I have a lot of fun with them none the less.

1) kensai/mage or berserker/mage - very powerful.
2) kensai/thief - does the most damage with backstab. (Yes, a lot more than an assassin)
3) ranger/cleric (dualled) - also very powerful
4) monk - very nice at high levels
5) archer

It's been a while since I played, but I know these are the best.

I totally agree with you there floyd, but there is one good use for bards. If you like challenge, then play with one. I soloed with a bard at the highest difficulty, and I must say I had more fun with the bard than I had with my fighter/mage/thief (it was too powerful).

Hmm.. The Top 5 Powergamer Characters -or- the Top 5 RPing Characters? I'm not a powergamer, so I'll list ones I think are the best to play for RPing purposes:

1. Beast Master
2. Assassin
3. Beserker
4. Jester
5. Skald

Although Bards are considered to be on top of the 'Worthless List', all 3 Kits are actually very fun to role-play with. Beast Master is a challenging class mixed in with excellent role-playing capabilities. Power gaming brings the game to an end really fast, but if you role-play instead, it can be very exciting.

1.Fighter/Assassin (play evil and you have more roleplaying than most other characters)
2.Kensai (Kensai mages kinda dilute the raw power you get)
3.Sorceror
4.Inquisitor(dispel magic comes in useful, as does Carsomyr)
5.Beserker (enrage!)
