i don't know who i should be, one who don't die esy, help my.......
|
Depends what you like , you shouldn't do powerplay but play for fun. But if you are a newie and haven't played BG1 than I should say any fighter kind (fighters, paladins, rangers) they don't die easily and are easy for starters.

Personal Fav:
Thief/Mage Thief dual to Mgae Fighter dual to Mage Fighter/Mage As long as you are mage you are INVINCIBLE"!!!! Evil laugh...and you can use bows to shoot nasty arrows when spells run out! |
I'd suggest a berserker, barbarian, or monk to start with. You shouldn't die too much, I think.

I´m suggesting that you play with an Assassin and put much points in hide in shadows and move silently. My assassin has killed more enemies than Korgan, Minsc and Edwin has TOGETHER! ( It´s true! I´ve killed 45% with my assassin. And I´m in the underdark now...)
I LOVE ASSASSINS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Personally I'd go for a bard kit. Probably a skald. You can cast mage spells, fight, indentify most items and pickpockets (although not very well with a skald).
My main character (first time through) is a skald and I don't die too often. Saves a lot of money and spells when identifying items too. Great class in my opinion. |
I agree, fighters for newbies first time.

save urself some greif and be a half-orc fighter dual-weilding Katanas
and war hammers |
for a newbie I think a monk might be a good choice for it's magic resistance and imunity to mind affecting stuff. also a paladin with Carsomyr and some other items has a very good magic resistance.

guess what my first class was?

I have a monk right now that is quite a bit of fun. I really enjoy the game when your char is being built, and monk is one of the most challenging in that respect. Much in the same way as building a mage from lvl 1 up. 1st time thru BG2 good fighter/mage dualed from BG1. 2nd time with a neutral ranger/cleric dualed from BG1. 3rd an evil monk. And having a great time. |
Yeah, for starters go for the hack and slash... But if ya wanna have some fun... Heh heh heh... Hrm, try playing a stalker, I find them great fun to play because you can backstab and still have all those annoying little resistances of a ranger!

Try out a swashbuckler for a good all rounder. You get to pick pockets and locks, be sneaky and be a good fighter as well (especially with two weapon style, featuring a nice fat Katana). Good armour class bonus and THACO later on. For an extra sneaky version try a halfling (don't laugh) for its theif bonus and you can also get 19 DEX.
