Ok, after rescuing a guy (can't remember his name) from a crypt in the graveyard, the quest about kidnapping/burying people follows. Now after killing the mane in red (Arat?) and the goons inside, you go upstairs where the kidnapped woman is. Now, if you don't release her and choose to collect the ransom, you go outside the Copper Coronet and talk Welther. He'll give you the silver pantaloons, and your rep will decrease by 2.

what do the silver pantaloons do, and where do you find this Arat guy?
is this the quest with the red piece of cloth, cause i never solved that one, can't find the man in red?

Yes, that's the quest. You find the man in red (he might be called Arat, not sure) in the Bridge District. Do you know the house with the entrance to the Twisted Rune and one of Kangaxx' crypts? Arat is right next to that, in a little alley in between this house and another one.

As for what the Pantaloons do: they're part of a big easter-egg that spans BG1, SoA and ToB. You need the Golden Pantaloons from BG1, the Silver ones from SoA and a pair of panties from ToB, and with those three items you can create some very powerful armor & the crossbow to end all crossbows.

is there any other way to get them w/out your rep. dropping. i really don't have a thieve it this point in time besides Imoen who stinks!

Imoen will do just fine for pickpocketing him, just have her wear the Gauntlets of Pickpocketing and/or give her a few potions of Master Thievery. It'll be no problem then.

Imoen + several potions of Master Theivery == one good thief [img]tongue.gif[/img] :D [img]tongue.gif[/img]

Or you could go pick up HaerDalis... he's a good pick pocket.
