This is a VERY open question. my party stands:

ME: Blade
Minsc ( oh and Boo)
Jehrea (spelled wrong sorry)
Nalia ( till I get Imonen)
Edwin ( cuz I love his up-bringing chatter)
Keldorn ( cuz of that paladin sword you get from Big Red)

I was wondering if Veronica is better than that damned druid. if not her then Amonen?

I keep my friends close and my enemies closer.

Viconia is the better Cleric but Jaheira looks to be your romance option or does that matter to you. BTW whats it like playing as a blade, never liked bard classes much so Im curious. Oh and avoid Anoemen. One last tip the spells you like most, bring scrolls along so Imoen can learn them.

Playing as a blade is ok I guess. It's not as much fun as some of my other classes, but the spins work wonders in a pinch. so what was all that about lov-ie crap? I did it with the druid my last game, but i wanta new party this time.

The game has a romance option, as in you get a subplot with either Aerie Jaheira Viconia or Anoemen depending on race and gender. The small conversations that pop up where they play some romantic music is indicative of romance. Its nothing major but everyone tends to have one of these people in the group and thats how they discover it.

ok here're my picks for the best party:

me: kensai/mage (nuff said)
korgan (a great little tank dual-wielding axes)
minsc (using 2-handed swords)
valygar (pretty good using longbow or dual-wielding katanas)
viconia (the drow hottie makes an awesome cleric and you gotta love the 50% magic resistance)
jan (a good thief and a decent backup mage, plus the hilarious dialogue!)

this party may seem a little heavy on fighters, but really with these guys the fight's over before your mage can get a spell off. i'd replace valygar with keldorn, except i've heard he'll duke it out with viconia if they're together too long.

A) Buy two computers
B) Link with LAN etc
C) Find girlfriend/boyfriend/wife etc who is interested in computers
D) Play BG2 multiplayer without NPCs who are basically abysmal anyway
E) Create six characters from Multiplayer option
F) Preferably three Fighter/thiefs, Dual classed Berseker/thiefs etc
G) Talk to partner whilst playing game, no need for NPC romantics

I don't know if I got lucky, but the game was ridiculously easy with this party. Plus, Jan really pisses off Keldorn AND Valygar. Fun fun fun.

EVIL PARTY (all evil)

korgan (dual weilding frostreaver and stonefire with red dragon scales)
viconia (romance girl, wearing Trachite plate armour *cursed* and weilds hammer)
Edwin (kick arse mage thanks to that amulet of his and his nether scroll quest)
Kensai (did the multi to single trick to get him. He has 4 2 handers, harbringer, warblade, vorpal blade and Soul Reaver)
Swashbuckler (has black dragon scales and dual weilds celestial fury and malakar)

GOOD PARTY (has some nuetral)

me- Invoker
Minsc (wears red dragons scales and weilds, heartseeker, skullcrusher and vorpal blade)
Cernd (AC -6 !!!!!. Thanx to ring of gaxx, protection +2, cloak of high forest, staff of the woodlands, pale green ion stone and none of these clash)
Imoen (wears bladesinger chain and weilds bow of gesen and equalizer)
Haer'Dalis (wears melodic chain mail and weilds two katanas)
Keldorn (wears armour of the hart and weilds casomyr. The perfect paladin equipment)

Try replacing Yoshimo (pure thief) with Jan (thief/illusionist). This will give you a thief (he's right under Yoshimo in ability, and can increase abilities as he rises in level like Yoshimo can), as well as a second wizard in the party. Nalia is always a possibility as well, but her thieving abilities suck.
