Last night, as I was thinking of all the names of the characters I wanted to make, I came up with the name Rhazor, the Blade. Has anyone else used names like this for one of their characters before?

I dont know where you got the first one from, is your Eldoth Kron the same as the one in bg1? Is Ghatzkull Thraka a huge half-orc by any chance?(coughwarhammer40,000cough)

I personally used names from Raymond E Feist novels. I have a sorcerer named Macros, a fighter named Tomas and a thief named Jimmy. I also have a dwarf cleric named Thorin Doomhammer and a half-orc barbarian named Ragnar.

I normally name my charecters after final fantasy7 charecters, most frequently Cloud or if female Tifa since aeris and aerie could get confusing.

I usually give my chars a wierd name like the ones you would find in the game like Psa'lil, Itlaxhcl, and Thelexia.
Or if i was to name from games, I would (feel guilty for sayin this)
Use parody of names like Baldurdash did with Elmonster/Elminster
I might take some name from history (like egyptian gods) like Anubis,
Ra, Osiris, Isis, Gaia, Kronos, Amun-Ra, or like Ramses (a dead pharaoh)
or, take a name from the old game and put it to the new one!
Take Jon Irenicus, for example. Give him his portraits, his avatar, and his voice (possibly) and you have a recreation of the character! Sure, you would try to match up his stats and his spells, (if using new shadow keeper, look him up in the creature searching thingy) Look for HELLSLAY (him in hell) copy his stats (open the other jonny before hellslay to get the skinny on his actual stats) and copy the hell's spells. Jonny cant glow (though u could chance on Rapture of the Father) Rapture is not the same rapture. It is that thing he does when he kills those others in his tanks in Asylum.

For my Paladins and Fighters, I often pick historical name. Like Tiberius or Justinian - both Roman Emperors.

I use a thesaurus to name my characters. First I think of a word or words that will relate to my characters and look it up in the thesaurus. I then pick the strangest and pleasant looking word and twist it slightly and voila! A name with meaning. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Due to my own lack of imagination, I tend to use names from Tolkien books (god knows there are enought to choose from).

Beowulf is an old story about a norse hero who kills a monster named grendal. and its mom too. just fyi.

no offence sigmar, but im goin on the assumption you play warhammer and like the empire, which i feel is the worst army you could pick because they have the access to the best items and everyone always goes "awww1!!! yeah!!! steamtank!!!! Yeah!!!!" which is boring, ive seen them used in 1500 point battles, which if theres only twelve is quite risky isnt it, im a high elf man myself.
My party was the original lord of the rings party, except i named myself strider (not aragorn) cos i prefer it and i led the party, so thats legolas, strider, frodo, gandalf (the white), gimili and sam.

Hehe, everyone always thinks I use Empire(I wonder why?) but no, I use the greatest of all warhammer races the dwarfs. The Empire is pretty bad but the Lizardmen are worse. All that you say about the Empire is even more true about the dwarfs, name one con to the army aside from the slight speed problem. By the way you started it.(coughwarofvengeancecough).

i get all my names of of the hobbit and lord of the rings, i am currently Aragorn the Lost King (fighter). Other Names i use: Thror,Tom Bombadil,Gandalf the White, Soruman the Colorless, Smeagol the Ringbearer, Boromir the Valiant, ................................

Do you think that in countries that use way too many consonants in their language(s), gamers give their characters names like" Alan, Keith, Rodney, Amanda" etc?

Tolkien used Anglo Saxon style names, and ever since then the high fantasy genre copying him have used similar styled names.
