1. There are two. One is on a mage in the first Harper fight. The second can be made from your apprenti in the Mage Stronghold.

2. I've only found one of these.

3. There is only one Staff of the Magi; although some people get this confused with the Staff of Power that your apprenti in the Mage Stronghold can make.

4. There are two. One you can buy off the Nobleman in Trademeet, and the other is on Catti Brie of Drizzt's party.

5. I only found one ring of fire resist.

6. Same for ring of fire control.

And then there's the awsome pair of boots of speed. Some people say there are two, others claim it's three and I even heard someone say there are four pairs. (add to this the pair from BG1 to get five http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif)
IIRC there was one on Bloodscalp (try getting it though)
Drizzt has a pair, there's a pair on someone when you do the planar prison quest and the machine in the Asylum can make a pair for fifteen tokens. The ones in BG1 can be found on a fighter in front of the cloakwood mines.
Your sixth character can try the boots of lightning speed which I found in BG2 once, but you'd be wise to ditch them ASAP http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Well Ive only found 2 boots of speed in the game. Some say Drizzt wears a pair, but I've never found a pair on him. Also someone else has a pair, but you have to cheat to kill them.

And I've never found the boots of lightning speed, they might not even be in the game, maybe a item that was ment to be put in, but never was. There are a few items like this I can't find anywhere, nor does anyone know about them..

Jade hound
Boots of the West
Boots of lightning speed

I know that there are at least two legitimate rings of regeneration. One can be pickpocketed from Ribald in the adventurer's mart; the other is somewhere in the asylum. Unfortunately, I don't recall precisely where.

the other Ring of Regeneration can be found in Asylum, after answering all 12 riddles in the face room.

sunder 06-20-2001 12:53 AM

Yes, but Avatar doesn't want to pickpocket, so you can't include any items you have to pickpocket off people. He wants to know the items he can get WITHOUT pickpocketing, which leaves out the 1 ring of regeneration from the merchant, the 1 ring of Gaxx from the lich, the 1 ring of the RAM from the cowled wizard, etc.

Legolas the Elven Archer 06-20-2001 06:11 AM

I haven't found boots on Drizzt either, but some people claim Drizzt does have the boots of speed which have been cursed somehow so that you can't get them (same as with Edwin's amulet and Boo) Of course, they aren't of much use to you, but boots of speed is boots of speed.

As for the boots of lightning speed, I've found them in the game. The thing is, after I read the description I came to the conclusion they were virtually useless so I ditched them and forgot their location.

Like I said in the other post, there is some uncertanity about the exact number of boots of speed in the game. I only wrote down the places where it is claimed they can be found. I myself can only confirm that the BG1 boots, the boots from the machine in the Asylum, the planar prison boots and the boots of lightning speed can be found.

There is ONE other way to get ring of wizardry (no pickpocket) without killing one of your apprentices (good chance). If you do the harper quest with jaheira she will be summoned to the harper hold and then a day later will return to your party. She will ask you go to the harper hold where you will have a showdown with galvery. The ring will be one his body. This ring rocks. The ring of fire resistance is one the rakasha in the fisrt level of the dragon ruins in windspear hills. The staff of the magi is on the woman mage in the twisted rune quest (bridge district in back of lich's house with rouge stone)

I've only ever got two pairs of boots of speed (Paws of the Cheetah) in the four times i've played (are there more, if so where? i've never killed Renal Bloodscalp so maybe thats one pair.) I got a pair of speed boots from the planar sphere and the other one of them came from the mithril machine. As for the Boots of lightning speed, well, who wants em?

Boots of Lightning Speed
These modified boots of speed were originally intended to boost the wearer's speed rating to even greater rates than normal boots of speed. They make the wearer as fast as if a haste spell had been cast upon someone wearing boots of speed. Unfortunately the wearer cannot attack and the strain of rushing around so fast quickly tires even the most stalwart of heroes. Their nick-name is 'Heel of the Coward', for that summarizes their most obvious use: running away.

You can't? I never tried it in BG2, because I hate the fact that you will be fatigued after the spell wears off, but in BG1 I used it all the time, and if I was wearing boots of speed and my whole party was hasted, I went twice as fast as they did!

Yes you can, and improved haste too, im pretty sure of it. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif The boots only increase movement, the spells increase movement and attack speeds. Anyone know for 100%?
