Not criticisms, observations http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Little John was a huge man and extremely strong, I can't help but feel that his and Scarlets stat's should be swapped, but it's a minor point.

The other thing to consider is the points awarded to charisma for Robin. A Wisdom or Intelligence of 15+ will help safeguard your man from mental attacks such as domination etc. Charisma is only really needed when shopping http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Right near the start is that ring that sets your charisma very high. So you
need not waste stat points on charisma. Although this is kind of a powergamer strategy.

I nearly mentioned that too Djinn, there are other methods as well. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

Blast, I forgot to say- WHERE'S Alan a Dale?? Who's going to sing your tales??
(He's a Bard of course! Possibly a Skald?)

Also, some lesser characters, like Much the Miller's Son ( a poacher, hmm... Ranger?) and the Evil Prioress (assassin, of course) would round it out.

Dundee Slaytern 06-17-2001 01:31 AM

I went for natural resistance because I figured Robin Hood would be a charming person. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

With regards to Will Scarlett obscence Str, well... ... it took me a loonnngggg time to roll to get that amount of skill points so I didn't feel like continuing.

As for why others were not included, there were only 5 slots, Aerie is the 6th. Nobody touches Aerie. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif To heck with the other NPCs' sub-quests. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

I must say though... ... the Dream Sequences are seriously screwing up my mental role-playing. Hard to think like Robin Hood when Jonny boy keeps showing you weird images. I try to just shrug it off as weird dreams. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif

Well maybe you shouldnt give ALL your gold away. After all, you do have to keep Friar Tuck happily intoxicated http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Nice sounding party though.... except that Clerics arent supposed to have a strength over 18.... otherthan that right on man!!!!

Desdicado 06-21-2001 07:37 AM

Hi there, can't help thinking Marion would have MUCH higer Charisma. I agree re swapping John Little and Will Scarlets stats. Will should maybe be 17 str?.
Don't forget Alan A'Dale.
A great idea alround though, a themed party. What other themes could we use?.

------------------

Dundee Slaytern 06-21-2001 07:58 AM

Well, I have invested too much effort in the party, so I dread starting all over again.

As for Maid Marion's Cha, well, I could give her the Ring of Human Influence and bump it up to 18. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

P.S. Has anybody ever tried a couple party? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif That is, if you're male for example, you go solo and only choose 1 female NPC( Jaheira, Aerie or Vicona) to be your companion all the way. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

Heh heh, the husband and wife tag team. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif

ianbkwan 06-21-2001 02:15 PM

Or maybe Camelot themed? King Arthur, etc... but this would probably be all knights, paladins, and fighters. Or Norse warrior theme? Beowulf... etc?

Gil-Galad 06-22-2001 07:15 AM

A bit blasphemic, but anyway.......how 'bout a Lord of the Rings Party? Merge the four hobbits into one and you would have:

Aragorn - Ranger/cleric
Boromir - Fighter (or maybe fallen Paladin...)
Legolas - Archer
Gimli - Fighter
Frodo - Thief
Gandalf - Invoker

A bit low on magics, but still....

Dundee Slaytern 06-22-2001 05:10 PM

Question,

Is Shadow Dragon Armour considered leather armour? Coz if it's not, then I won't wear it for my Robin Hood party.

Leagle 06-23-2001 04:07 AM

Frodo being a fighter/theif, Bilbo was the rogue.

Yes, it is, because it can be worn by thieves without restrictions. What's more, it is NOT considered magical armour so you can wear a cloak or ring of Protection with it http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

There are better leather armours than this in the game imho Dundee. None of them scarlet unfortunately.http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Sorry for the delay, http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif but school has restricted my gaming time. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif

Defeated Firkragg already, http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif heehee, Will almost died.

Here's the next zipfile of screenshots, contains two folders, one for daily happenings and the other with Firkragg's fight. The files have explanatory titles.

Oh by the way, is Red Dragon Armour considered leather armour or metal armour?

ARCHERS SUCK, WHAT IF U HAVE A -31 AC AGAINST MISSILE WEAPONS LIKE ME?

OR EVEN BETTER, JUST GET A SHIELF OF REFLECTION. I DISLKINE ARCHERS THEY AREN'T VERSATILE ENOUGH.

Seid 07-24-2001 02:11 PM

Don't worry, most of the archers have a good magical longsword close by hand. And no AC vs. missiles is gonna help you against that.

You cannot escape the inevitable.

Gorgasim 07-24-2001 02:18 PM

aslo when is his archer ever gonna fight you.... Whats it matter what you have? Its what creatures and monsters have. I've yet to see something with the shield of reflection...

Arex 07-24-2001 03:00 PM

Just another thought on the "what other parties could you use?" idea.

Anyone ever read the Avatar trilogy from a couple of years ago. It gives quite a balanced party:

Kelemvor : Fighter
Adon : Fighter / Cleric
Cyric : Figther / Theif
Midnight : Mage (single or specialist)

[This message has been edited by Arex (edited 07-24-2001).]

floyd 07-24-2001 03:12 PM

And Kelemvor morphing into Slayer would be somehow ... fitting.

Your party is nice, Dundee, but the HPs seem awfully high for a starting party. I heard that was a side effect of creating all your characters. Doesn't that affect game balance?

Hanz123 07-24-2001 04:27 PM

Besides, you must bag a craploud of equipment just to get that missile ac, Makes you miss out on other cool equipment and kinda susceptible to other kinds of attacks don't it? I can can think of better ways to equip a character.

Dundee Slaytern 07-25-2001 01:48 PM

*cough cough*

I am role-playing here, not power-gaming. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif First time though, do you really think I would use only leather armour if I was not role-playing? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif Try it sometime, it can be challenging.

Hell, my main fighter, John Little, is a Grandmaster in Quarterstaffs, http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...les/tongue.gif dishes out about 20-25 damage though. Heh heh.

Will Scarlett, my second tank, is a Grandmaster in Daggers, http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif got to love poking Dragons to death.
