I know the quest exists because I have read about it here. You go through a certain odd doorway while posessing a certain odd stone and you fight some really bad guys and get some really good treasure.
But what leads you to the quest? How does it fit into the plot? My first time thought that game a never ran across it. Are you expected to go door to door and see what trouble you can get into? ------------------ I'm confused. I'm feeling lazy, so I'll just point you to this link instead. It should help you find the quest.

Something like that. There are no quests that point you towards that door, if that's what you mean. I think it's in there for 2 reasons...one, just as a tidbit for those people that DO go door to door, and two, to make you wonder wheteror not there's a connection to anything else.

How do you use the rogue stone to open the door? Haven't been able to figure this out...
|
I got this from the developer boards and originally it was going to be a huge quest involving the thing with the tanner as well but it got taken out for time reasons, if you download the infinity engine you can check out a load of interesting dialouge they left out.

one word: Maximum stats!
This is about as hard as Kangaax and the Slave Lords put together. ------------------ Will the real cheesy lich stop using timestop, stop using time stop, YEAH BABY! :1diablo: |
Question....it isn't the elemental lich that summons all thoughs twisted rune guys is it? If its not which door am I suppose to enter to fight the lich which does?
|
The Twisted room house isn't a quest. It might have been though to be one but never put in, but there isn't really a quest to it. You simply have to have a rogue stone in order to ender the Twisted runehouse. If you try to enter the door without having a roguestone, it just won't let you in.
There are some Twisted rune guys outside of the house you run into during the game so maybe they were part of a broken quest somewhere. The Twisted room house is in the bridge district. Its a pretty hard battle, so make sure you save before you go in. The best mage staff in the game is in there, so if you have a mage, you might want to get it. |
Koshi - one of the hard guys from the Guarded Compound in the Temple District - carries a note detailing how to get to the Rune. I know a removed quest item linked the Guarded Compound with the slavers in the Slums.

OK, I have three questions:
Tancred: What is that quest item? jabidas: How do you browse dialouge using IEEP? sunder: There are some Twisted rune guys outside of the house you run into during the game so maybe they were part of a broken quest somewhere. What house? I can only think of that guy in Immelsvale, or the tanner at the second run-in. Thanks, Cayle |
You need a ROGUE STONE to get in
and a beholder eye stalk to get out. You get LOTS of experience and combat experience and a staff of the magi like they say save beforehand and prepare to be BEATEN! spoilers................ 1xlich 1xtough mage 1xBeholder 1xMature Vampire 1xfighter ...hardest battle in the game by far |
fighter's a thief I think.

As far as how I found out about the quest, I just happen to like going door to door, looking for trouble, and I had never heard of the Twisted Rune quest, so I was surprised that there was a door that I could not enter. I knew that it must require me doing something to get inside, and doors that are that well guarded must have good things (or really bad things) on the other side. So, I went about trying to find a way in. After a while I got tired and decided to come back to it later. When I did return, I just happened to have that stone in my possession. I did not even know that I needed one, it just happened. I was in, and I quickly regretted being too nosey!

In BG1 there were a lot of things in the city that you only stumbled across by going door to door. It doesn't really fit with my character's persona though.

Tancred, there is no note on any of the guys in the Guarded Compound.
|
Go to Baldurdash. Kevin has fixes from the familiars and rage to the twisted rune quest neb.
|
hey guys,
actually if you fought the person you gonna find for the evil skin armour, there will be these twisted runes pple appearing, are they the same gang? and wat are twisted runes? |
Spoiler:
. . . . . . . PS: Getting out was harder getting back in! I couldn't find that damned eye until I search the stupid beholder VERY CAREFULLY. ------------------ http://www.gis.net/~yos/lichwah.gif http://www.btinternet.com/~GWah2/mygreetings01.gif http://www.btinternet.com/~GWah2/myname001.gif http://www.btinternet.com/~GWah2/finalarch.gif |
I assume the guys who attack you over by the skin merchant are part of the quest-that-never was.
I Think the tanner, his contact in the village, plus the couple runethieves in the tanners home and the warriors that attack you are all twisted rune members, so I figure the Twisted rune might have been a big quest that never made it in the game. Probably, the Twisted rune house in the bridge district would have been the finale of the quest, where you fight the big bad guys. |
