ok i'm generating a character and i have equiped him with the staff of fire.
one of its abilities is to summon a fire elemental. but when i equip it it doesnt work
any idea why?
it says item drained

Have you tangled with a hakeashar? So far as I know they are the only item draining creatures in the game...

no i didnt get it legit. i tried putting it on with shadowkeeper and cluaconsole both versions wont work

For some reason, whenever you add an item w/charges via Shadow Keeper or console, it is without any charges. You need to sell it, and buy it back (or steal it back).

You can only summon an elemental once per day with the staff. Just rest, and it'll be back.

You can summon more than once per day with the staff. I've summoned upto 4 fire demons in one battle before with the staff.

I thought the damn thing was "limited" to charges - so when you've used up your summoning - the only way to recharge is by selling it? (reading the description)

thats screwy, when i set the rod of resurection once it gave it 99 charges

Check the number of charges with shadowkeeper. You can also change the number of charges in shadowkeeper, I think.

The staff of fire has 10 summon fire elemental charges,10 Fire sheild charges when they are gone, their gone.

The staff of air has 1 per day summon air elemntal and 10 sleep cloud charges

The staff of earth has 10 earth elemntals charges and 1 per day stone to flesh.

It sounds like you need my Recharge Items spell. Or you may use Shadowkeeper to "set quantity" on the item, if you so choose.

You can CLUAConsole in an item and give it as many charges as you want. I think that the format is somethign like this:

I know that isn't exactly right, but I created a ring of invisibility with 100 charges a couple times before...so I know if works...

Melusine you can set both item quantity and charge quantity. With the ring of invisibility you could just make it give you 100 charges every day.
