Does anyone have a D&D players handbook handy. I am writing a weapon description, for an item I am making. And I have used the word "fighter" about 10 times. The only synonym my dictionary has to offer is Warrior. Could someone look and see what the titles are for the different levels of being a fighter. I remember one was call a knight, another adventurer, ect...
do they still do that? Or if anyone has any other good synonyms, I am all ears. Thanks, joe |
I just tried an online synonym engine, and it came up with "Fighter" as a synonym for Fighter. It also came up with Titan.

Hmm...it depends. If I saw what you were writing, I could tell. One way is to simply cut down on the number of times you have to say fighter.

Fighter, Warrior, Swordsman, "Wielder Of..." (Let me think.....)

The good thing about fighters is that you but them on "fighter aggressive" script and then you can ignore him in every battle (just stand back - if he dies, then come in with some time stopshttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif)

MM yea could be alot of names for fighters depending on how you are using them..
Fighter, Warrior, Bladesmaster, Macer, Lancer, Axeman, Knight, Squire, Soldier, Swordsman, Swordmaster, (insert weapon name LOL), A woman could be a Amazon. MMM its late my brian isn't working well, Im sure there are alot more. |
Veteran, hero, swashbuckler, champion, armsmaster, mercenary, sellsword, retainer, (NPC types) guard, bodyguard, trooper, MARINE, (Semper Fi!) defender, attacker, scrapper, brawler....
------------------ Philosophically, I'm chaotic evil. In practice, well.... (Dang conscience!) |
In this case: Its about a fighter/warrior that kills a character that depends on magic resistance to win his battles.
|
Sorry, It is a work in progress, and I did not want to post the whole thing, until I had gotten it more completed. Also I wanted to avoid comments like, "there are no dark Half-Elves, you dummy", at this point.

"...And the aptly named, 'Sir not appearing in this film."http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

------------------ Why? |
Basher, yeah! Anyone remember some of those comments from the weapons mercheants in Planescape: Torment? BTW, what the hell is up with the blue guy under my name...while blue hair dye is not outside the range of my own personal stupidity, the whole gender swapping bit is a little unnerving...might i end up like poor, poor Edwin(a)? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif
