I have heard that you can upgrade the Mace of disruption somehow. Is this true ? If so HOW ?

You need the rare metal illithium. Do the sir sarles quest
for the temple of helm.

I completed that quest, and I didnt get any extra illithium, nor did anyone offer to upgrade it. Is it too late? Who do I have to see?

Steal the illithium back or kill the guy and loot his body. =D

There are two ways to finish the quest, you talk to the ore seller
and you get two choices. One is to accept the alloy and take it to
Sarles and the other is to go to the scource. If you want to finish
the quest and get the rare metal just agree to talk to the scource
and then ask for the alloy. If you do this you should get the Real
stuff and the alloy. Take the metal to Cromell with the mace of
disruption and he should upgrade it. Give the alloy to sarles.

But maybe he did not give sarles the real stuff and he still has not
