Broken down by monsters, though...? Hmm. Blind is fun to throw at beholders. False dawn is a necessity againt the vampires. (Did anyone else catch the poke -at- Anne -Rice Egyptian motif in Bodhi's lair?

not a bg2 spell but Celestial host form torment had the best spell animation EVEr (a deva bashes enemy with mace of disruption, pheonix hatches from egg and flames them,aasimon shoots them with celstail bow and a gold dragon shots em with energey wave) its just an illusion though, but it does do 10-120 points damgae no save.

Low level spell- magic missles
high level spell- timestop

Druid Spell: Summon Insect swarm

Priest Spell: Heal(complete heal)

Mage Spell: Skull Trap (insane damage at high levels, better than any thief trap)

Bard Spell: Melf's Meteors ( bards get very high levels fast and become machine guns.)

Well, for my mages , i would choose Skull Trap, my major tank(me) regenerate so fast that the damage is insignificant but others swallow damage like hell.

2 spell casters casting this onto a nice group together will make em suffer quite a lot damage.

you just need to get used to the trigger distance and lunch it to a place only foes will get hit.

This may sound sadistic but I like casting holding spells.
