As I found out since I´ve been visiting this forum, I´m not the only Nalia-hater. So I decided to open a thread to kick some noble Robin Hood-like NPC ass. There may be several opinions about that...(I´m looking forward to reading the replies, really)

I must admit that I don't care for her mewling either. However, fortunately, she pretty much shuts up after her quest(s) is/are over. I stuck with her due to the lack of good-aligned mages in the game. She is now my most powerful Archmage...along with one hell of a guerilla warfare expert.

I have both Nalia and Aerie in my party. They never complain! Why does everyone hate Nalia??!! The whole point of thieves dualing to Mages so that mages can use shortbows and longswords! |

Nalia's really good - provided you turn your speakers off!
She is a great mage with the bonus that she can use short bows because she is dual class thief (equip her with Tansheron bow for best effect). I almost always have both Nalia and Aerie in my group, the whining is annoying, but if you have a good aligned group you can do no better for mages. ------------------ http://www.gldb.com/wayno/epona2.gif Time is an illusion. I agree that Nalia can be annoying, but she has been a great addition to my team so far. If fact, she and Aerie have the best kill ratio after Minsc. My pc is a druid that has a hard time staying alive. I just rescued Imoen so I had to removed her from my party, but I'm sad to see her go.

Okay first of all all you have to do is buy a potion of genius to write highlevels spells for them and anyway in the addon lums the mads machine will let us upgrade stats
I really like aerie a lot but nalia makes we want to vomit and then tear her head off so i can send it to auntie dearest in the post(those of you who have done that quest for her will who im referring to). you dont get spell slots for level 9 if your intelilegence is below 18 potions of genius etc. Will allow you to learn spells but not cast.

At first I couldnt figure out why people hated her so much.... that changed last night when I quested with her. OMG she is driving me up a wall. In regards to Aerie, I have Viv in my party and let me tell ya, those two get into some great conversations.

What? Nooooo! Nalia's an incredible character! Believe me, Nalia and Imoen make one hell of a scouting party. Load 'em up with powerful short bows, give them a decent short sword each, cast Tenser's Transformation and charge in with the rest of the party. Try a grand total of 36 magic missile blasts at once to a single target courtesy of two Sequencers, one each. BZZAP!

I hate Nalia she is always whining, always reminding everyone that she is "Noble" and everyone is just a "Commoner", damn b*tch, Aerie on the other hand is one of the most ultimatest NPC's in the game! Imoen is kewl too, currently I am trying a new party which is:
Me(Sorcerer) Minsc(Of course) Jan(Of course) Jaheira Imoen Aerie This party kicks some serious A$$! Both Jan, Minsc and Imoen are using two weapons! They tear my enemies to shreds! Fear me Irenicus!!!!!! |

Hey one thing you can say about Anomen, he is true to his character. Only someone with an INT of 10 would think its a good idea to dual to a cleric with a Wis of 12.
O and as far as Jan being a must have... hmmmm... I havent used him yet, but he is a Gnome, so that right there rules him out from staying full time. We will see when the time comes, maybe I drop Vic and keep him, but thats doubtful. [This message has been edited by Talvin (edited 05-23-2001).] |
Jan is a must-have, he has special goggles which can detect invisibility, he can cast spells, he is a pretty good thief, and unlike Nalia and Imoen his thief-skills get better, if you give him the red dragon sword, and the Katana+2 he is a real terror, and with Bracers AC 4 he can cast spells at the same time, especially if he also has the Robe Of The Neutral Archmagi, oh yeah, I almost forgot Jan's best ability and the thing that makes him a must-have, his funny stories! I actually like anomen (or whatever), he just beat up Jon Irenicus on his own. At this stage he has an armour class of -10 and over 120 hit points, which I reckon is good. He can take dragons on his own. Cast summon champion +flail of ages and he really goes to town. + he can heal himself and does some terrible damage with his cleric abilities, he really is the ultimate tank in my team.
