Who loves Paladins?
I love them. I made a custom Paladin. Hes awesome he has psuedo dragon familia and ive modified it so i can give him more profinceies in 2 handed swords( i didnt give him any more than six proficincies though)I also gave him five extra hit points. The reason why made thses tweaks is because no one person is alike so why should all paladins have the same strentghs and weakness and abilities.
let me kow what you thikn about my play and tell me about yours.
Long live paladins

Yeah, Paladins rock, but it sounds to me like your custom paladin is a bit on the powerhouse/kikass/too good, side of things but if you want to play the game that way fair enough. Personally I would have given him a few disadvantages as well like not being able to be proficient in any other weapon, lose some of his normal abilities(turn undead, lay on hands)etc...
I finished the series (BG,TotSC,SOA,TOB) last week as a cavalier and would like a change from a Paladin (mainly for a different stronghold quest) but Paladins will always be my fave.

oh no hes far from perfect he has half of his special ablitiles
like only one or two protect from evil and and a couple detect evil.
I did give him any more profiency points. My reasoning is surely in an order of paladins you have knights that a masters of the two handed sword.

come on whos is YOUR paladin

Magness 01-20-2002 11:22 PM

dizzy, you oughta try out the SoA mod "The Darkest Day" (also known as TDD). It has tons of new kits, including something like 6 paladin kits.
I think that they are: Anti-paladin, Dark Knight, Cerebral Knight, Demon Slayer, Dragon Slayer, and Lord.

Personally my favorite paladin kit is Inquisitor. I love their special abilities. I've never been much to use a paladin's turn undead or clerical spells in battle. I've always seen paladins as tanks that should be in the front line, thus having no time for the luxury of spell casting or praying. (Isn't that what clerics are for?) True Sight and their super Dispel Magic (along with immunity to hold and charm) far more than make up for the loss.

I've never seen the inability of my paladin to attain more than 2* in any weapon as a limitiation. Instead, I've turned the limitation into a benefit. I see my paladin as being skilled in many different weapons. While I might have a character that is really locked into axes, for example, due to 5* in Axe and thus is limited in the goody weapons that he might find or buy, my paladin is more flexible and will be able have more options.

They really are one of the best characters

Aurum 01-23-2002 10:21 AM

I have 7 Paladins, the high lvl is of 35lv.

Dreamer128 01-23-2002 10:44 AM

My cavelier was always a one-man army, capable of taking out almost every creature or enemy by himself(Except Dragons). Then it turned out a certain NPC in Tob was a better tank then me, what a shock ;)

Galadria1 01-23-2002 02:24 PM

We have two paladins (one cavalier and one vanilla )in my Multiplayer party. We kick butt and take names.

Tancred 01-23-2002 03:51 PM

All hail Paladins! Tancred the Cavalier is the only pc I've ever had who made his way all the way from Candlekeep to the Abyss.

dizzy 01-23-2002 10:10 PM

very cool anymore

Seraph 01-24-2002 12:38 AM

I've played several Paladins. Never an Inquisiter however. Clerical spells are one of the biggest perks, IMHO theres not enough benifits to outweigh giving them up.
Cavaliers are nicer from a general rpg pov, however I think the Undead Hunter is more useful within the plot.
