How do you export items with Shadowkeeper to make your own custom items. I have about seven different swords I want to make.

Make sure you have the latest version of Shadowkeeper. I have 1.6.3 but the link Ironworks has is 1.4.0, or something. If you have this, then when you are on the inventory screen, and select an item, you will have an option to export the item, or export a list. On the old version, you could only export a list of items, which was a notepad file and was of no use. Unfortunately, I don't give a crap about learning ANY HTML code, so I don't know how to post a link (not that I have one) but look up the MUDMASTER site, or SHADOWKEEPER 1.6.3 download with any search engine (I prefer Dogpile.com) and you'll find a new version of Shadowkeeper. Hope you enjoy your virtual smithing!

Thanks for the help.

www.mud-master.com

Install then click on Export Item. It will export it to your override folder.

Then you can use the Infifnty Editor to edit the .itm files in your ovverride folder. I turned the dakon blade (sorry PT fans, I know it was heresy) into a two hander for my experimental Kensai/Mage, made the Helm of Balduran look different and turned the HA into a bastard sword. Ever since 1st edition, the HA has been a bastard sword, so I made the one in BG2 a bastardhttp://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif

You can't use Shadowkeeper to edit items. You need to use a program called Infinity Engine Editor Pro from www.teambg.com

Just a very minor comment.http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif If all you want to do is customize items for your own use, or use the items other people have created, teambg recommends using the Standard version of the editor. You do need the Pro version if you want to create items for other people to use.

But nobody has answered my question

Well, I guess I'll answer it then.

1. You don't (or shouldn't if it's even possible) export/extract items with Shadowkeeper; a utility on teambg.com "biftool" will do this for you.

2. You don't export anything if you want to create an item; creating means making from the beginning. (assuming you're using IEEP)

BladeMaster 05-13-2001 12:28 AM

Atomizer I need to know if you can change the color of the flames around the swords

Probably. In the first pane, under the 'equipping effects' heading, try "Change Colors by RGB" or "Set Item Colors". I haven't bothered with colors before, so this is all I can suggest.

BladeMaster 05-13-2001 12:43 AM

At least you answered my question. I will give it a try and if it works I'll let you know. I have a bunch of Baneblades from the Fall of Myth Drannor to make and they each have a different color flame

well i've made several items. and i always use shadowkeeper to export/import them. its the easiest way i've found. its much simpler then the biff tools or bif extractors. you just pick the item in the item browser. then click the button that says export item. and boom, you have an .itm file in your overide file ready to play with. just open it in IEEP and off you go.

Hey Slacker do you have an answer on how to make the flames around the blade a different color

If you are "making" an item you shouldn't have to extract anything; I think you're referring to "editing" items. There's a difference. http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

BladeMaster 05-14-2001 05:20 PM

That is true but if you do not want to have any problems making the item export the item and customize it that way there are no problems with the look of the item on your character.
