Try fighter (you can dual class him/her in BG2), or ranger or paladin.

Forget the character, does she have a sister? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/noncgi/smiles/338.gif

Paladin is my fav (laying of hands helped me soo many times, and when paly gets to be 15 level, healing 30 hp in a touch comes in handy.

Run while you still can! Everquest is an addictive game and should only be played if your ready to completely ruin your social life http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

If you want to have some fun, try a rogue, bard or thief. The most frustrating thing is when you get a NPC thief that has his points in a skill that you don't use. So, solve your problem by creating one.

I am pretty sure that a monk can't be dualled. Ranger would be a good choice, but I'm partial to thieves myself. Can't guarantee those NPC's will have what it takes.

Does your gf realise she won't see you for months? Possibly even years?

Hmm.. I'm actually rather fond of barbarians. Nothing quite like a barbarian rage. Or possibly even a kensai. But then again, a good necromancer always comes in handy. *sigh* What can I say. Go ahead and play a game as each type of character. *thinks it'll definately be years before his g/f sees him again*

After all the gmaes I've played, I've settled on the Fighter/Thief

Oh no! Not EQ!

I played that one for far too long. When I played it, I was rather fond of my Half-Elven Paladin. In EQ, they are much more defense than offense, but very fun to roleplay. If you really like fighting in a party, a Cleric is ALWAYS wanted, same for the Enchanter. If you like to go solo and with a party, the Shaman is great.

For BG1, I think a plain old fighter is the way to go. There aren't that many good fighters (not fond of Minsc myself) in it.

For BG2, go nuts. Try something new. The monk is challenging at first, and then too easy. The sorceror is a blast, as long as you choose your spells carefully.
