I seemed to have dropped the key that Gaelan Bayle gave me to get into the other part of the Shadow Theif guildhall. When I tried to make the key using the create item cheat it wasn't there and I went through all 30 keys and none would work! Any help would be greatly appreciated. I really don't want to start all the way at the beginning.

Damn. Anybody know the item code for that key? Failing that, download Shadowkeeper and add it to your inventory

Do you have the in game cheat?
Type in: CLUAConsole:CreateItem("key12")
Do this during the game (must push ctrl+c to get the area you type in).
If you don't get this typing area, go to a file called baldur or baldur.ini in your BG2-SOA folder. Enter this as a new line: debug mode=1

You said that you tried the "CreateItem:" cheat? Did you try both codes, KEY12 and KEY13? I think that KEY12 is the correct one, but I'm not positive.

I had only one person highlighted and all the keys were given to him.

Also the Key12 is the one to get into whats his face's private quarters and Key13 is to get to a group of cells if I remember. The one I need is to open up the secret door to the right as you walk into the guildhall.

ok it appears that Key12 is the right key. it says it fits the secret door that leads to Aran Linvail's private abode. but when i got to open the door it remains locked!

Try looking at a point where your may have been given something but had a full inventory and thus your key was dropped to the ground.

Keys are permanent objects and never vanish I believe.

The only other thing I can think of is that maybe you didn't complete part of the quest(s) that you need to before you can open the door. You're sure that you completed the Galen Bayle thing? Did you do Renal Bloodscalp's quests? I'm not sure if Renal's quests are connected or not though...

OK This same exact thing happened to me. And the key that shadowkeeper created will not unlock the door. You will have to "jump" there using ceat codes. I have the information at home and will get it and post to you. You have to jump in. The door will still be locked but there is an outside door you can use to come and go. I'll be home later tonight and find the info and get back to yyou. Believe me the edited key will not do it.

Download Shadow Keeper and just import the item into your inventory. If you can't find the right console command, it's simple as that.

I mean that I will get the location code (for the cellar) for you to jump to. And again, the key that shadowkeeper makes will not work. I assume you have cheat on. If you don't turn it on and I will post the code. Then it's just a simple matter of jumping in.

You're quite right. I couldn't get to my e-mail until I got home though. The Shadow Thief Cellar key is MISC4S
