I have done the 2 quests in the druid grove for the spirit there and it said that i would have to challange for leadership of the grove as archdruid. is this another step up from great druid? and also is being great druid or archdruid actaully do anything for you?

yeah sorry i know i just want to find this out in a hurry for no real reason. and for one i dont know why people dont play druids much because they can be pretty kick asre with their summoning spells plus my level 23 totemic druid can summon 5 spirit animals per day i mean how is that not good?

You will be/have been asked to challenge for the position of ArchDruid of the Grove. If you win the challenge, then you will be elevated to ArchDruid. I don't believe that this correlates to the rank of ArchDruid (as you are thinking of it) in AD&D. You won't get any additional powers from becoming ArchDruid IIRC...you simply complete the stronghold quest and gain a place to rest. There has been some discussion that Druid powers will be increasing in ToB and will perhaps come more in line with what AD&D outlines.

thanx thats what i was trying to find out but also i have waited since chapter 2 to be challenged for archdruid status but i am now just come out of the underdark and still have not been challenged is there something i am meant to do?

Maybe you have to be level 14 BEFORE you beat the shadow druids or it wont work.

no this is totally different i am a L25 totemic druid and have been great druid of the druid grove for ages now and completed the stronghold quests except the spirit that gives u the quests has said she will not visit me again until i am ready to be challenged for position as archdruid not just great druid thats what my question is but from the sounds of it noone plays druids as far or much as i do

there must be someone out there who has gotten further than me with a druid jeez

Although the spirit mentions something about becoming Archdruid, nothing ever comes of it. There has been some speculation that perhaps there will be more to come of this in ToB. However, no, there's no more to do. I believe that there is only one Archdruid on Faerun and he/she can travel the planes and do a lot of stuff that would be *really* hard to program into a CRPG.

Use shadowkeeper to level yourself up to a godlike level and see if that will do anything. Maybe the designers were not satisfied with severely handicapping the druid class and are just having fun pissing some more on them.
