I want to have a little poll about classes. What do you like and why.

I especially like thieves. When you want something, go to a store and say stick em up.

Gimlee 05-01-2001 03:13 PM

Thieves all the way. Espacially swashbucklers.

Throntar 05-01-2001 03:40 PM

Hi Tom!

Welcome to the board!

For a whole slew of polls go to the main Ironworks forum listing and check out the "User created Polls" forum. There's all kinds of stuff like this there.

BTW, I really enjoy playing Paladins as I am able to role play them without choices I make bothering my conscience... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...es/biggrin.gif

I think the best class for Rping is the Paladin *saints of virtue*
I quite like playing as a blade though! I am in with him now! Its kewl hes like a tank spellcaster http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

Rikard 05-01-2001 04:05 PM

Mages coz they require you to actually do somthing ionstead of just click and hope you win.
Also Bards and Thieves are nice

MILAMBER 05-01-2001 04:07 PM

Personally, mages all the way. I don't want to get into a mage/fighter debate, because they both have uses, but I just enjoy the idea of being a mage. I played a thief once though and had a blast. You can have so much fun with a thief when you get them to a high level.

Gimlee 05-01-2001 10:34 PM

Holy **** Bahamut. Your role is the best I've ever saw. If you want to know if your stats are good, you can ad them together. Mormally, it should be near 85 or so. Yours has 97!!! For exemple, Minsc has 73, the lowest of the game.

Grand-Ranger 05-01-2001 10:50 PM

you know, some people might already do this, but a anotehr way to get stats is lower everything to 3 your first roll, then you will have points to spend and just put things where you want them..i imagine lots of people do this, but i always see people rolling there stats instead of custmizing them

250 05-01-2001 11:00 PM

thief/illusionist

chaotic good

str: 7
dex: 12
cons: 9
int: 13
wis: 14
chr: 12

thats me, and this is the AD&D character for me.

jabidas 05-02-2001 05:55 PM

i swear this is a roll that actually happened
Str 18\00
dex18
con18
int15
wis 13
cha18
for a female paladin like wow best roll i ever got
my mage from bg1 has better due to books
my sorcerer got some insane roll as well

Lord Shield 05-02-2001 06:03 PM

hmm - The sorceror and the fighter/thief - the sorceror allows mucho spello casto (same number of spells as a specialist but without a prohibited school) ,and the fighter/thief allows sneakings bagginses with godzillions of backstab damage

Aurican 05-02-2001 11:02 PM

Rangers are the best. They are good fighters with some clerical abilities. Plus they can stealth and duel wield. I know that skill is not very special seeing that everyone else can in BG2 but rangers could do it first, so YEAH!

TheDutkanator 05-02-2001 11:46 PM

Firefighter
The firefighter is a cleric with the abilities to cast the following:
aganazzar's scorcher
flame arrow
fire shield red
fireball
summon lesser fire elem.
summon fire elem.
flamestrike(on top of normal clerical flamestrike)

This is a custom class I can send if you want, just email me http://www.thedutkanator@aol.com

Otherwise, start as a kensai, then immediately dual-class to mage (must have 17 on int or str, can't remember which)

I wanted to create the ultimate warrior so i re-installed Bg1, rolled for over an hour, made sure i picked up every single Tome in the game and then imported it in Bg2.
So now my pally has these stats:
Str:19
Dex:19
Con:19
Int:9
Wis:15
Char:18
And that withoud cheating.

Gd_00 05-03-2001 09:37 AM

i like swashbucklers cus they can steal and they r very good fighters(for a thief)
but i like fighters the best, pure clean steel thats the best, and for fighters i usuasly take dwarves --- they r bes fighters(i think they r better that half orcs, but thats just me)
once i got roll with a monk all together 98 and thats best i got ever, but i rolled a lot
i dont know is this cheating but i never take rolls under 85-86, i just roll and roll (and pray)

Gd_00 05-03-2001 09:40 AM

i almoust forgott
i like archers too,
i think there should be at least one in each party

Practicly no one goes with the first roll (except the die-hards) so its not cheating.

Dreamer128 05-03-2001 09:43 AM

Whats so good about archers?
Give Mazzy a short bow and sheŽll finish off any opponent.

Bristowe 05-03-2001 09:53 AM

Nothing beats a dual wielding ranger! http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif and thieves are up there as well, too bad assassins can't be proficient like swashbucklers can...can't beat a good backstab every now and then either... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

------------------
Yes indeed...

Dreamer128 05-03-2001 09:57 AM

Play as stalker, dual wielding ranger+backstab= a lot of damage.

Gd_00 05-03-2001 10:02 AM

every few levels archers get +1 to hit and +1 to damage, and called shot is great u should try it

ShadowUK 05-03-2001 02:57 PM

Kenisi all the way..................

But a mage is very good fun.

Bard definitely my number one! Any kit will do, they're all great.
Archer comes second.
Monk a close third.

Yay! I got a 97 myself on a Thief a little while ago. Nice, ain't it? http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

My own personal preference, as I have mentioned several times before, is for a Dual Fighter/Cleric, starting with Fighter and dualing to Cleric as soon as released from the cage. By the time you exit the first dungeon you are lvl7 Cleric, and jump to lvl 8 and get your fighter skills back almost at once... 'course, you have to make sure only to allocate weapons to the Fighter that a Cleric can use, and give 18 Wisdom... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...iles/smile.gif

i agree with the fighter cleric mix, you can wear armor and cast spells at same time, while having say grandmastery with a mace of disruption or some kind of warhammer that really sucks... what was its name again ... http://www.tgeweb.com/cgi-bin/ubb/no...miles/wink.gif
