Can you bring your >>>TEAM<<< over from BG 1. Not just your PC but NPC as well ? Also if you can will it affect the story ? ie: You bring over Jaheria's husband.

No, only PC can be imported from BG1.

Jaheiras husband is already in BG2. Unfortunately he's the mutilated carcass near the end of the first dungeon. A lot of BG1 char's are in BG2 already (albeit with different portraits.) It isn't possible to "export" the NPC's from BG1 as far as I'm aware but it is possible to use Shadowkeeper to match the existing portraits in BG2 to match those of BG1. It should also be possible to create the BG1 NPC's including their portraits with Shadowkeeper and then introduce them to your game in a multi-player single user game.

Well....I guess you can always use the CreateCreature Codes to add them to your party (provided you have or can find the code for the NPC).

Thats why I asked. If hes dead on a table and you bring him in what would happen ?

Hi Accord.
I wasn't thinking along those lines. I was just thinking it should be possible to roll a character and adjust the stat's, name, portrait and spells etc to match those of your favourite NPC's from BG1. All the BG1 portraits are available within Shadowkeeper if that's your preference (I had to match them to keep my niece and nephew happy as they had an affinity with jaheira and Imoen and were most displeased that they looked different in BG2.) Or am I way off the mark here? ------------------ One love, peace. |
Personally I don't see why you can't just do as I've described above Dave and call the bloke Khalid. I don't think that would cause problems.
OH!....Did you still want Jaheira and Khalid to interract, that would be a different kettle of fish entirely. ------------------ One love, peace. [This message has been edited by Charlie (edited 04-09-2001).] |
Heehee...don't worry Charlie, I wasn't implying anything.
I don't think Khalid's character exist in the BG2, or maybe I did not look hard enough using Infinity Explorer. You can always create an artificial Khalid, but that is just another PC(ie. not special party interaction), and I think Sorcerer Dave actually wants the "real" Khalid in the game. (Let me know if I am putting words in your mouth Sorcerer Dave http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...les/tongue.gif ) My apologies if my comments led to any misinterpretation/misunderstandings. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif ------------------ Long live H22A1!!!!! |
Yes proper NPC interaction. Thats what I want.

Accord my friend,
there is no way in the world I would even contemplate that you were implying anything. For what it's worth I've always found you to be one of the most helpful knowledgeable guys on the board. It's only through the help and assistance from guys like yourself in the past that enables me to sometimes assist others in some small measure now. No apology from you will ever be required. Cheers mate. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif ------------------ One love, peace. |
I remember having a case of culture shock when I transferred my PC to BG2. I remember thinking 'Jaheira? Where did that extra dexterity point I gave you in BG? Imoen? When did you get the time to become a mage? Weren't you a better thief than you are now? Minsc? I remember you being a higher level than this! What's going on?'.
I suppose you COULD transfer your characters into BG2 using Shadowkeeper, but seeing as I completed the game with the 'reduced' team I had, it's possible that doing so will tip the balance of the game totally in your favour. Besides, I liked the feel of a continuing story... and the deaths of Dyhaneir and Khalid only made me even more determined to press on, to avenge them. As for transferring Khalid into BG2... That'd require a LOT of rewriting. The entire Jahiera romance would have to be removed; the corpse in the dungeon would have to be renamed; and besides, the fewer NPCs from BG2 you take on, the fewer subquests - and therefore, the less of the game - you see. well you could.... (note: i havent played bg1 so inform me if i'm wrong)
export each character in bg1 then start a bg2 multiplayer game and import each one. but then there wouldnt be any dialog. since the game would see them as player created character. ------------------ http://www.dirthurts.com/images/slackerboy/golem1.gif http://www.dirthurts.com/images/slac...slackerboy.gif http://www.dirthurts.com/images/slackerboy/golem2.gif |
