I just wanted to know what other people thought about character classes and races.
I believe the best class is a multi mage/thief
the best race is elven

I have always had a soft spot for the swashbuckling human (although I have tried the same class with a minotaur which was very amusing),all that dashing swordplay and exchange of wit (Princess Bride anyone?) gives rise to some truely memorable fight scenes-even against the lowly Kolbold!

I was always a paladin kinda guy my self, particulary cavilier, the whole protector of good thing, you know.

As for race definatly human,
comon now, there is a reason they are the dominant race in all of faerun!

Human berserker/mage or paladin (cavalier or undead hunter)....there is good and evil versions for berserker/mage.

An Assasin definetely. People don't even know what killed them until they look down on their carcass from heaven or hell and see a lone Assasin about to hide in the shadow once again to stalk his next victim.

And besides their a great mage killer and i like sneaking around.

It's because of paladins and all those favorite quotes of their's that I get such fun from prowling around as a drow warrior mage. Honor is all. Good and Evil are meaningless. Paladins have got it half right at least.

Fav for Fighter : half orc bezerker. You can't beat him with 19 str and con.

I've always preferred Paladin-types. The Undead Hunter was good for me. As for race, I have no preference. I choose whichever is best for the class I want

Another vote for Cavalier, mainly because they have so many bonuses and resistances and their single drawback is not being able to use missile weapons.

+2 dexterity
+1 inteligence
-2 constitution
-1 charisma

50% magic resistance at level 1 +2% per level there after
infravision
+1 to hit and +1 to damage with weapons that you are proficiant + in

One vote for a halfling swashbuckler or any kind of thief. He has a lot of bonus to his thieving skills. Plus, there's no good NPC thief in the game (exept for Jan, but he is multi-class and wont go very high on levels).

On my second trip through the game and I'd have to say I like this character the best.

Human Kensai / Mage

I dualed him over to Mage at 12th level. He is now 15th level mage and I have to say he can really dish out the pain. Add to it the fact that he has grandmastery in katanas and mastery in 2 weapon style and you can see why. Currently dual-wielding the Celestial Fury and Dha'kon's Zerth Blade. Stoneskin and Improved Haste almost make him invincible.

Half Elf Ranger all the way. When I brought mine in from BGI, I kitted him to a stalker. He Combines prowess with stealth, whoohoo! Does most of the work solo, the rest of the party are are there for story.
