Um any help ?
|
Ah yessss, the good old Kangaxx problem http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif
Tips to kill him are: The demi-lich can only be hitr by +4 or better weapons, Is immune to most magic (but NOT the Ring of Ram), he always tries to imprison the nearest target Easy ways to kill him are: First kill the lich form, then use a scroll of magic protection (bought from the adventurers mart) on one of your characters who is carrying a +4 weapon (Staff of rynn is probably the easiest to get/use and I think it works), get that character to atack the demi-lich and Bud-a-bing, one dead Demi-lich http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif ------------------ Nicodemus Deathslayer, Paladin of the Order of the Holy Flame |
Set the game on an easier level for the duration of the battle.........

Another tip I read on this board which makes it really easy to take him down I read on this board is...
SPOILER > > > > > > > Fist after killing him in his normal lich form (Set lot of traps where he spawns) you summon a Wizard eye, he will try to inprison the eye instead and though the wiz eye are imune to that. So until the eye are unsummoned you will be safe. Than summon a few critters to be inprisoned while you cast a new wiz eye when the first one is unsummoned. Now to the "hurting" business. Use Melf's minute meteor in all your memorize slots and that will bring him down. ------------------ http://hem.netlink.se/~sbe29647/bilder/anima.gif |
ok first of all the chessy way i think someone did it by casting silence radius on his own party so when the fighters got close to him he couldnt do any magic no nothing no timestop demons or meteor
the non chessy way cast spell strike then warding whip to take out anything else he puts up and then the breach spells and thump him till hes dead |
ow, wouldn't you feel a bit harsh letting him cast imprisonment on all those summoned animals!!! Have you read the details of that spell!!!
I hope you cast freedom afterwards!!... http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif |
Elhardo.. heh.. Actually I didn't.. those poor babies http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...es/biggrin.gif
jabidas.. Aboute your way.. Spelltrap is a lvl 9 spell and can therefore not be used before very late states of the game.. (if you don't use the scroll) That might be a minus in that tactic.... ------------------ http://hem.netlink.se/~sbe29647/bilder/anima.gif |
Sorry... saw now that you said Spellstrike..

Now both of them are immune to his imprisonment spells. Send them in first and he'll keep casting imprisonment spells on the 2 then send in the rest of the ur guys. To get rid of his protection spells just let him cast it leave, then sleep and when you wake up the protection spells would have ran out. He's defenseless now. Kinda cheesy but it works. http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...smiles/338.gif |
Kangaxx is actually rather easy under the right scenario. I used the Wizard Eye tip mentioned below to great effect. For me, a singe Wizard Eye took the brunt of all Kangaxx Demi's Imprisonment spells (which are unlimited). The trick is making sure the eye itself is right next to Kangaxx, with the fighters just beyond (and still within striking range, thanks to 2-handed weapons).
My exact process was: 1. Position Jaheira, Minsc, Valygar, Imoen around Kangaxx's summoning point 2. Haste, then Quicksave 3. Jaheira casts Harm 4. Summon Kangaxx 5. Let dialogue finish, then pause immediately 6. Jaheira strikes w/ Harm -- reload if hit is not successful 7. Minsc and Valygar strike with Warblade +4 and Wave +4 8. Kangaxx becomes Kangaxx Demi 9. Imoen strikes with Ring of the Ram (thanks to this board for the tip) 10. Kangaxx Demi flees to a far corner of the room 11. My party moves to the opposite corner 12. Imoen casts Wizard Eye 13. Move Wizard Eye next to Kangaxx 14. Move Minsc and Valygar just beyond Wizard Eye; attack with certain +4 weapons (not all of them work) 15. Kangaxx takes about 10 damage per round and dies quickly Thanks again to all for the help! BT |
Cool, i just came online after unsuccessfully trying to kill him (Keldorn was the only character who had above +4 attack) and find this thread of tips http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

Spoiler
. . . . . . . . . . I came across an extremely cheap way to kill him and get the ring. However, you don't get the experience. I didn't wind up saving, it was just too cheesy. 1. Set 6-10 Traps where he will appear before you summon him (Use the Gethras house to rest and return to set traps if you only have one thief) 2. Leave the rest of your party right near the steps upstairs 3. Summon him with a thief with good pickpocket skills(I used Jan) 4. (This part's kind of tricky). Immediately after giving him the golden pieces, pause the game.Unpause, then pause (repeatedly and quickly) until you can pickpocket him with the thief skill button (This has to be before he starts talking again). Your thief will now have the ring. 5. Immediately after getting the ring, run to the steps (use haste before if you want) Take your entire party upstairs. Wait for at least a minute (real time, if you don't he'll still be alive) When you go back down, he will have died. The demi lich never appears, unless he goes somewhere else I'm not aware of. Like i said it's real cheap. |
Don't worry about summoned critters. When the spell wears off they get unsummoned. Besides, they're only computer sprites, not real creatures. As for tactics, my favourite was my sorceror:
Haste Spell Shield (Abjuration school) Tenser's Transformation Staff/Magi (or Black Blade of Disaster if you can cast it) Kick his ass! |
argh.. just cast Spell Imunity - Abjuration and approach your mage to the demi-lich and use warriors to whack him with +4 +5 weapons (from behind the mage, I sugest 2-handed swords and other long-distance weap) http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif

I used the wond of wonders. I had my main character create a simulacrum of herself with a scroll while holding the wand of wonders. Then both of me used the wand at Kangaxx after he became the demi-lich. Result-Petrified demi-lich which shattered when my summoned creatures(who were there to take the imprisonment spells) bit him. Then I sold off the wand, to unpredictible for everyday use.
|
I used that wand of Wonder on a Githianki who wanted his sword blade back.
Don't have any idea what happened to him but he got hit by the wand, and dissipeared. We never saw him agian. I beat him by casting Spell immunity to Abjeration on my fighter/mage, and charged him first. I had Minsc wack him with the Ring O da Ram and sent in Keldorn in with his Holey Avenger. backed up by Jahedra shooting stones from the Sling of Evard. The Demi-lich locked on to my fighter/mage and tried to Imprision him. I guess he was not a very smart mage in life, cause he never tried a breach spell to bring down my spell defences. It didn't take too long for Keldorn to smack the remaining un-life out of him. Took me a few tries to finally work this one out though. ------------------ --Kellin da Mage-- |
alexwc4 petrifiying things almost always means they don't drop stuff and I am not killing Kangaxx for the EXP (although it is a nice bonous) I am killing him for the "Ring of Gaxx" cos it offers a load of resistances and regenerates HP.
Also thankyou everyone for posting help, I don't think I need anymore. I got my team to higher level. I am just a little off getting my Sorcerer up to Lvl 14 and Aeire now know false dawn. The only problem with laying traps is that my thief is Yoshimo and he sucks at setting up traps. I will try taking him on in a couple of days. |
I got the ring too. I would not have mentioned the Wonder Method if it did not give me the ring. BTW, my main Character is a Jester, great for lore and Pickpocket(if not much else) and she pickpocketed the Demi-Lich while he was still cyan-ringed. So actually I have TWO Gaxx rings, with what only the most lawful could consider cheating.

I have another problem...I can't find Kangaxx' torso. Any help??
|
Lilandra, welcome! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif
I'm not sure about this, but I think the Torso is in the cellar of the house in the Bridge district, somewhere at the bottom of the district map. I might be mistaking it with the Arms&Legs, if so: the other location for Kangaxx's bodyparts is in the Temple District Sewers. (You need the Unseeing Eye quest to get there). Good luck! ------------------ Melusine, Archbabe of the OHF and the LH http://www.angelfire.com/anime2/memnoch/mel1.gif Your voice is ambrosia |
Yep, Torso is in Bridge district.
Arms & Legs are in Lower temple sewers. |
I know its a bit late but this is how i killed him (it is cheating a bit but oh well)- i placed mazzy , keldorn , minsc and a few bears rite where he appears and be4 he gets a chance to speak i beat the crap out of him- he just stands their like a lemon- actually did this with firkragg aswell but he did eventually realise wot was goin on
