Inspired by an earlier thread on NPCs in Infinity Explorer, I went into an old save game of BGII and successfully created some old BGI NPCs and got them in my party using the CLUAConsole CreateCreature command.

KIVAN: Only level 2 though, but has his old portrait, unlike the others you can create this way

QUAYLE: Multi-class Cleric Lvl 6 Illusionist Lvl 5

GARRICK: Level 6 Bard

XZAR: (possibly the best catch) LEVEL 13!! Necromancer EQUIPPED with robe of the Evil Archmagi, which he doesn't have in the game if you kill him!

I tried quite a few, and these were the only ones I had any success with so far. Only Kivan has a portrait, but they all have exp points and so therefore I assume they level as normal.

I'm off to try some more....

Coran IS in BG2 (I liked him). After you've done the Drow Underdark area, visit the new areas opened up on the World Map. He's in the top left corner of one of the new areas

Yorick 03-06-2001 08:43 AM

No Yeslick http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/frown.gif

Charlie 03-06-2001 09:07 AM

I liked Xzar. Wanted him in my party for BG2 too. I used to swear at him for forever upping sticks and leaving my party. He used to take his vertically challenged mate with him too. I never knew reputation had a bearing on these things back then.....oops.

Update:
I have spent a while testing the characters I mentioned in my original post (ie. I was not at work today)

Don't bother with Garrick - he sticks in an endless loop of dialogue (remember Noober/Neeber anyone?) which never ends. Just the same sentence over and over again. Oh well, he always was a bit of a windbag! And his low intelligence means it's very difficult for him to learn new spells, poor dear.

Kivan only starts at level 2, but had got to level 6 by the time I had finished Jonno's dungeon, and then gets onto level 7 fairly quickly, so works out quite well. He has comments (when you click on him, or give him orders, and sometimes when you enter new locations), but none of it is spoken - it just appears in the message box, which is a bit of a shame, but not the end of the world as he's not bad with a bow. Makes me wonder if he was originally supposed to be in BGII but time & resources got in the way or something like that!

Xzar & Quayle appear to work OK other than no portraits or dialogue/interaction. One problem with Xzar is that he starts at level 13, but with 0 exp, so will take years to level up.

Dragonslayer: Thanx for the codes for those characters, if anyone knows any others, this would be a good place to post them!! (pretty please?)

Charlie: Too much multiplayer, too little spam!!! Don't worry, you'll get more stars soon.

These codes are courtesy of Father Bronze - I have lifted them from his 'hidden NPCs' thread (which I hadn't seen when I wrote my last reply to this post):

TTXAN - Xan
GITH03 - Githyanki Anti-Paladin (complete with Unholy Reaver sword)
BIFF - Biff the understudy
