Hi y'all,
hopefully someone can help- does anyone know where i can download
the required goodies to create my own character kits? I have tried
downloading from Drizzt but there seems to be a permenent problem with
the server as it never connects.Other sites such as Teambg, though full
of groovy things dont seem to have what i want- please assist me

Yeah, i'm in the same boat here, drizzt is pretty much out of action by the looks of things and i realy need help on creating a kit, i got no idea.

If you guys want, I can email you a tutorial on how to create a kit. It's not too hard, IF YOU READ THE TUTORIAL and follow the directions. If not, it can seriously screw up your game, as you will be editing 2da files that can't just be deleted if you make a mistake. I'll send you guys on the proviso that I can't be held responsible if you make a mistake. Deal?

Hint: start simple, then get more complex as you get familiar with it.

If it's any help i'm pretty sure you'll need the infinity explorer program you can get it from teambg or wherever.

No problem, i'll send to you now. If you follow the instructions, you shouldn't screw up. You'll need IEE and Notepad (or Wordpad, should be better).

I've been focusing on weapons and armor for the OHF!

This is part test - see if I'm doing the quote stuff correctly but I am also curious about hacked characters. Once I beat the game fair and square (mostly), I think it might be cool to try a Skald or Jester combined with the skills of a thief (straight, no kit). Is this possible? If so, how hard would it be for someone, such as myself, who does not know much about computers and less about programming?

IR, it's not really that hard, just a bit tricky deciding exactly what you want. It involves editing certain 2DA files which you can find using Infinity Explorer. It's pretty intuitive. I've got a tutorial I downloaded from Drizzt's site which spells it out for you, if you want me to email it to you. WARNING: If you stuff it up, it will stuff your game up though, so I suggest you back up these files before you play around with them. They're not just files you can delete from your override if they don't work.

I've just had some unpleasant email from some people who start editing their 2DA files willy nilly after receiving these instructions and not reading them.
If you back up your original 2DA files, if you have any problems just undo all your changes using the originals as references. Good luck.

For those having problems getting on Teambg's website I found that when I was using Netscape it wouldn't load, but if I used Internet Explorer it would load, turns out it needs IE to load, I don't know if that applies to your guys but I';d give it a try.

Ok, I have a question for anyone willing to answer. I've just created a Kit, when I go to create the new character in the kit everything works fine, except where the names are suppose to be. The kit name is some string that some one in the game says, and other similar things are screwy... I dont know how to edit the dialog.tlk and the Kitlist.2da correctly to show everything like it should be.. can someone help me out?

You need to have IEEP and edit new dialogs for your class name. In your kitlist.2da file the numbers 3 sets should correspond to what the dialog makers number was. If that makes any sense...
