Mine was when I tested out the Dracolich my team made.. Talk about roadkill
Mine was in the maze beneath the Assylum. After some thinking and some irritating item placing, I managed to complete the statues quest and the riddles quest, but I didn't saved my game. In fact, the last time I saved my game was when entering the Assylum. Moments later I was smashing my head on the desk after my entire party got crushed in that nasty wall trap.
Yeah, nasty wall trap was embarrassing for me too!
Mine was when a summoned pit fiend cast fireball at an immune enemy. It promptly killed Aerie, hurt everyone else and caused the Earth elemental, wyvern and invisible stalker I had also summoned, to turn on the survivors. Or maybe it was the time I cast dispel magic on my confused party, forgetting I had protection from evil to prevent the same bloody fiend from attcking them! Needless to say, I don't summon them anymore!
Mine was when i walked my badly wounded part back after doing the mind flayer dungeon in the sewers when my main character was shot by a kobold and killed.
trying to steal from the merchant in the center of the thieves guild..at level 9...I want to be able to kill someone in one hit with an arrow : (
It definitely has to be the "wall" trap in the Asylumm......Accord just peacefully walking along the corridor....when suddenly....*BAM*.....well, you get the idea.
Accord got mine as well...I could not figure out what had happened, because I did not even see the walls slam Jaheira...then she was just gone! I restarted the game, and took another look at it, and it happened again to My char.! After that, I knew what was happening, then re-started for the third time.
Don't feel bad ZeigFried. I say we've all done that at least once. I usually find that it time ot go to bed about that time.
Wall trap, definitely the wall trap. What is it about that dungeon that we forget to save in that area? I mean really! I had to do almost the whole section over again! Like Sir Taliesin said earlier on this string, I usually take that as a sign from god to get some sleep!
likewise for me i have this weird glitch in my game that after every fight my party (still green)seems it's fun to attack me ,this is not a multi-player game, but it was in Trademeet and you know when you first enter the lion attacks you, well i went to get a cup of coffee and came back just as they were finishing a combined attack on me.sometimes i fun with this when nalia hits me and i smack her back, that sure does bring some good thoughts with it (not hitting women just nalia)
To much for comfort
I found it pretty embarising to get killed no matter what happpens but my worst hm after killinf firkraag i got killed by a chaotic thief (my own) that was pretty awful especially as i wasn't able to kill firkraag agian till i got back from the UD |
You remember those little goblin archers, in Irenicus' dungeon...Just when you enter the library, we were fighting the grunts, and that mesphit attacked, wellll, I took a lot of damage, so I thought it was from the mesphit, so I switched to it, and just as I was taking a healing potion, bam. Killed by a goblin archer. The other half had to standing right there to see it too, so insult to injury. I don't even want to talk about the wall trap, although, if you've downloaded the dimdoor spell, and have the robe of vecna, it makes a very effective golum smasher.
My worst was in the elven city. One of those Rakshasa charmed Minsc, who then hit Draggor with the Vorpal sword. Draggor of course failed his save and died instantly. I got killed by that Oytugh creature too my first game. I remember dieing in that first dungeon a couple of times which seems pretty sad now.

Worst death most have been in attacking the Vampires, forgot that hid in shadows doesn´t work that well against them if you don´t have cloak on nondetection, anyone else noticed this.. Well my poor assasin/fightress suddenly got surrounded by alot of em fanged ones.. oups, save against deth not working bye bye..
Most embarrasing, wall trap, discovered it when three characters got smashed, reloaded and my thief who should disarm the trap still got crushed... blaha... Only thing that competes is in a big fight I tried Disintegrate out with Aerie, but that bloody fiend moved so all my fighters moved with it.. Suddenly everything went very quiet and Aerie and Viconia stood all alone... That was most annoying deaths too, |
hehe ... i remember that pesky walltrap too...
when walking down the corridor.. i found a trap... no matter how i tried to disarm it ..it wont... i took 3 theivery potions it still didnt work... finally i moved a little and BOOM.. you know what happened... the second one was when i was trying out some spells... i tried what does a fireball do... the first time i tried it... boy !!! i got crisp... |
That would have to be the time I forgot to rest before "Venturing forth" and got Waylaid. We all know how pitiful those parties are, right? Well, I only have 20 hps left, and I'll be darn if I didn't have to of 'em hit me right away . . . how embarrassing . . .
Either that or the time I was in the drow underground fighting the mind flayers. Ariel had been charmed. I had just finished killing off the mind flayers (without the potions, mind you) when I reorganized my party stance. I watched her walk right over to me when Jaheria was in the middle of a healing spell and WACK! Down I went. I was P!$$ed. Especially since I hadn't saved. One small side table later, I started quick saving ever ten seconds. BK |
I was just about to fight the mind flayers in the sewer. Well I stopped in the temple district to rearrange armor/weapons and then went into the sewers. I walk a couple of steps and run into a group of kobalds. BAM,BAM,BAM arrow after arrow kept decimating my characters. I ended up killing them but they killed THREE of my party. Turns out I forgot to put the armor ON my characters after playing swith-a-roo!
Hey Zoratorak, don't feel bad, my other half did the same thing in BG1, "What's a fireball?" So, being curious, she cast it on some bandits that had attacked her party, with her whole party standing in the area of effect. You should have seen the look on her face. I still laugh about that one. I however have played pnp before, so I knew what it was, but I did find out the hard way there. We were exploring some sewer in some city, and were attacked by ghouls, so I hit them with a delayed blast fireball. VERY sadistic DM, as I set off a cloud of Methane gas, and nighty night party, and half a city block.
Not five minutes into my first game I ventured North past the golem in the room where you get your first weapons. Before I could figure out that armor had disabled Imoen's spells, we were both toasted by the Mephit.
Mine is a nice one:
In Firkraag's dungeon, my party walked up to that Raksasha near the start of the dungeon. He promptly cast cloudkill in the middle of them, and not wanting my precious Aerie (lol) to die promptly ran away to the West, somehow forgetting in the process that there were 6 ogrillons and 3 vampiric mists lurking. We were caught in the middle of the room, and laughing I hit the load button |
bg2 first ever pc game i played, but started with Gygax, Greyhawk and original d&d. i just jumped right in and started playing, picked up items from golem jailer room and set out, was immediately killed by mephits and goblins.- What's that? EQUIP an item? what do you mean, i picked them up,for crying out loud! When all else fails, read the destructions? what an absurd thought. Tutorial? heaven forfend! I'm a man, i don't need no stinkin' instructions.
I once killed Imoen four times trying to find "a better way" through those terrible squishing walls of the Asylum. One would think I would have learned after the first time. Maybe I'm a glutton for punishment. Turns out, there *is* a better way. Avoid that area completely.
One of the worst was when I started my first multiplayer game with six sorcerors. Then I put on armor on all of them. Guess what happend
Mine was really embarresing. Iv´e created a duplicate of Irenicus with shadowkeeper and of course i went with Bhodi.( instead for Gelean Bayle.) And i was going to loot the vampire place and whent down to the second floor. Went into a room and opened a chest. BHAAM!!!!!!
A lightning trap brutally killed my EXTREMLY mighty mage. that was embarresing. |
Near to the end and in a room with the Elf priestess or whatever she was. I think there was a golem and those other things (forgotten the names now) that appear in Sudenneselar. Cloud kill or some such had been cast and I thought I'll just stand in that clear bit at the back of the room there and wait. After many an "urgh" and many an "oooh" later I got to the back behind the railings in the clear spot. "Urghs and "Ooohs" were coming thick and fast by now punctuated only by the odd "I dont feel too good" and then the dreaded (for me) "I require some healing". Frantic spell casting started and the room was now full of billious smoke, "urghs, Oooohs, I don't feel too goods, I require some healings and then to cap it right off "my spell has failed" decides to enter the arena. Ooops. The first ever potion quaffing championships then begin in earnest and I'm thinking "I'll just weather this one out now, it's personal". All potions gone and we're suddenly back to square one. Picture the scene.
Urgh, oooh, I don't feel too good, I require some healing and my spell has failed are coming from one side of the screen whilst shit, bol***ks, bas***ds and "please don't die" is coming from the other. Anyway, needless to say my bloke and party went tits up and a re-load was called for. Why I never just walked back out of the door I'll never know. I was right next to it to start with...Doh. |
The one for me was when I selected my party and selected the attack button to attack a monster.
I got distracted and then went to select my near death main character. Everyone in my party attacked him and he died. D'oh!!!!!!! |
Drau sorry but i had to find out what it meant.Yours changes from the oringal.
Oringal version. C D E D B D Ducks! See the itty bitty ducks! M R Not Ducks! Them are not ducks! O S A R! C D E D B D Wings! Oh yes they are! See the itty bitty wings! O I B M R Ducks Oh I be! Them are ducks! |
My most embarrassing was from BG1. I summarized it (albeit somewhat embellished) in an earlier post:
Trying to be a mage the first time, right after Gorion's death, Imoen and I are going into a new area on the way to the Friendly Arm Inn when we're "waylaid by enemies." Well, brave little Imoen (level 1 thief that she is) is showing great courage and valour against impossible odds (about five bandits). With one of her arrows she panicks a bandit. Meanwhile, she's taking hits so I try Cure Light Wounds. Unfortunately, I did not "click" when I got the pointer on her but rather when it was on the panicked bandit. I have not tried magery since... SIGH... |
Well... since Imoen was my theif then, she was detecting traps in the asylum maze and... squish! I laughed my ass off! As for my most embarrasing one, its gotta be me feeling the groove, storms into the middle room where Irenicus is, and ZAP! end of story. shocking
First night in the Inn at the parade, It's only a dwarf with a few mates!!!
well my guys die all the time (its almost a pre-req for being in my party to have gone under more than twice ) but the one that sticks in my mind is coming out of the underdark about 2 Drows & 3 skeletons beat a team of 6 at about 13-15!!! I was in such dire straits (basically just tryinmg to hack them all to death) that I thought there was soime other monster I couldn't see wiping my guys out!! no sorry, just a couple of lously ol drows! I played it over and the fight was won in about 1.5 mins. such is "life"
