How would i go about makeing Legolas

StarVid 01-12-2002 05:44 PM

I forgot, who is Legolas? It sounds really familiar...

Colonol Mullen 01-12-2002 05:48 PM

The elf from lord of the rings

StarVid 01-12-2002 05:49 PM

You mean the elf with the bow that went with Frodo or the king back at that elf town? I knew that name was familiar...

Colonol Mullen 01-12-2002 05:53 PM

yep that very one

Downunda 01-12-2002 06:28 PM

I suggest an elven archer (ranger sub-class) with approx

14 str
19 dex
15 con
16 wis
16 int
17 cha

just guessing on the stats but makes sense I think

Legolas 01-12-2002 06:53 PM

Yep, definately an Elven Archer with a high dexterity (19).

Wisdom can be set to a minimum (14 or 15, if I recall correctly) and intelligence to about 13.

Constitution is naturally rather low for elves, so set that to a minimum as well, same as for wisdom.

Then spend any points left on a strength somewhere between 12 and 16, and a charisma of 10 to, say, 15. Unless you think Legolas is very charismatic (though he does not put himself forward as a leader at all), in which case you can raise that too.

So you'd roughly get

STR: 14
DEX: 19
CON: 15
WIS: 14
INT: 13
CHA: 12

which is a total of 87, and not that hard to roll for a ranger class character.

Of course, it all depends on what you believe the elf to be, if you think he's a mastermind, set the intelligence higer. If you think he's had 3000 years to learn to understand the world, and that it should be reflected in his wisdom, be sure to raise that to 17 or something.
Because that's what's important. If you enjoy playing the Legolas character, you'll have to find a way to convince yourself it is, indeed, Legolas.

And as for alignment, probably Neutral Good (or else Chaotic Good)

Oh, and the gender is male :D uh:

Haha...make a Aragorn character.
Then a Boromir...
Then a Sam...
Then a...

Soon the whole Lord of The Rings Cast will be BhaalSpawns.

Yeah, I made a party from LotR the other day, with these:

Aragorn (human ranger)
Legolas (elven archer)
Frodo (halfling fighter)
Gandalv (human mage/cleric)
Pippin (halfling thief)
Arwen (elven kensai)

That party rocks!

see ya!

Maniac 01-13-2002 12:48 PM

Yeah, I have an elven ranger named Legolas... But I didn't use anywhere near accurate stats, I think he has STR near like 18/17 or something... Good for some of those bows that need 18 str...

andrewas 01-13-2002 07:45 PM

looking at legolas' performance in the film (which is really, really good if your wondering) id sugggest giving him mastery in dagger as well. (look at the tomb of balin battle if you dont believe me). and some of his shots at the bridge of moria leave me wondering if Grand Mastery in bows is sufficient.

Is there anywhere out there where you could get accurate stats for the Lord of the Rings characters? Approximating or guessing is fine but it would be nice to play as accurate as you could get.

I don't think there's such a site.
I've made a LotR party also. Here it is:
Aragorn (Human Ranger)
Gimli (Dwarf Fighter)
Gandalf (Human mage/cleric)
Frodo (Halfing Thief)
Legolas (Elf Archer)
Boromir (Human Fighter)

They rock, believe me!
But it would be better if there was a LotR RPG! Imagine that!

Guk73 01-14-2002 12:16 PM

I've been wondering if they would ever do a LOTR RPG. Can you imagine? Does anyone know if there are any plans in the works for such a creature?

there is a lotr CCG like magic: the gathering

and there is a LotR RPG, I'd have to look up the makers, and where to find it tho...

Fred the Fat 01-14-2002 12:55 PM

I had heard that they were making an online game like UO or EQ...MMORPG...but that it got cancelled. I have also heard it got bought up once again and is starting new.

Morgeruat 01-14-2002 01:04 PM

fellowship of the rings was also an RPG for the Super NES
