Moridin 02-02-2001 03:59 PM

What alignment would you consider yourself? What made me think of this is a funny story: The bank I work for was just recently acquired by another bank. The head of my department, through this acquisition, was given the pink slip (so long, good bye, don't let the door hit you in the ass on the way out!). However, foolishly they allowed him to do performance reviews and hand out raises and bonuses before he leaves (in 1 week). Well I think he felt a little bitter about getting the axe because he gave everyone in the dapartment a 15-23% raise and a 10-12% incentive bonus. For some reason I got to thinking, was this an evil thing he did or was it a 'just' reaction to him being let go?
To answer my own post (people seem to forget to) I would consider myself True Nuetral.

Moiraine 02-02-2001 04:03 PM

There was a thread long ago on the same topic.

Anyway, I would say I am chaotic good.

I learn a bit of English every day ! I didn't know the 'pink slip' expression, but it is very funny

Father Bronze 02-02-2001 04:08 PM

I hate to say it, but I think I'm Lawful Good.

This isn't a good thing. I spend a lot of time arguing with my students that "This is the school rule. I didn't make it, but I have to enforce it. If you don't like it, go complain to someone else. I'm just following orders." My students complain that I'm too strict, follow the rules too closely, and don't understand that there are "exceptions" to many situations.

Absynthe 02-02-2001 04:15 PM

Chaotic good, no question.
"From each according to their abilities, to each according to their needs" and
"An it harm none, do what thou wilt shall be the whole of the law" pretty much sums up my alignment.

weedius_maximus 02-02-2001 04:18 PM

Absolutely, Chaotic Cood is the only way to live. I experimented with lawful good for a while (we all do silly things in college, right?) but found that it interfered with my drinking WAAAAAAAAAY too much, so that was that! Turns out it really is hard to change your alignment!

Patriarch 02-02-2001 04:30 PM

I dont know... Some variation of evil I suppose, Neutral Evil? like a common thief...
BTW, in real D&D arnt assaisins supposed to be evil, as the killing of sentient beings for money is considered an evil act?

satan 02-02-2001 04:41 PM

KILL KRUSH AND DESTROY
everything has to day
mauahahahahaaaaaa
well you get my point

satan 02-02-2001 04:41 PM

KILL KRUSH AND DESTROY
everything has to die
mauahahahahaaaaaa
well you get my point

Demus 02-02-2001 04:43 PM

Well, I would have to say that i'm probably Chaotic Good cos' although I often do 'bad' things, I don't think I'm really a bad person at heart

Cloudbringer 02-02-2001 05:01 PM

Hmm, interesting question, Moridin. I'm guessing I'd be somewhere btwn Lawful Good (the way I address the world) and Chaotic Good (The way I sometimes feel!).

Heck, I haven't even put an evil npc in a party yet. sigh.

Malla Gabriel 02-02-2001 05:55 PM

I would have to say that i'm more Chaotic Nuetral, i do what i feel and go were the wind blows.

Rikard T'Aranaxz 02-02-2001 05:57 PM

One test says you vey chaotic and very good-two-shoes alike
and the other says neutral good

Rikard T'Aranaxz 02-02-2001 05:59 PM

Why?
well if your good
Why have laws?
law's are to tame the evil
but the good don't need them

Armisael 02-02-2001 06:51 PM

Don't know anymore, this board's all but killed off Evil Armie. Chaotic neutral.

Ladyzekke 02-02-2001 07:03 PM

Armisael - this board shifts like the winds, evil Armie ain't dead yet

Cloudbringer 02-02-2001 08:26 PM

Aww, but Chaotic Neutral is so much more unpredictable, Ladyzekke!

"Hell Lich" Wah 02-02-2001 08:58 PM

I'm Chaotic Good.

Lawful Good is just too perfect for my liking - like a spotless dustbin (who wants a spotless dustbin!!!??? )

But I don't stop work at school, in class and say: "How are we helping the less fortunate trudging around in here"

Accord 02-02-2001 09:17 PM

Back when I did the little alignment test (quiz), I recall I was actually Neutral Good .....I guess that is in more "real life", but in the game, I am finding myself falling more towards Neutral Evil....if not Psychotic Evil, if such alignment ever exist.

Ladyzekke 02-02-2001 09:23 PM

Yeah Cloudbriger, Chaotic Neutral is a good description of Armisael. He seems to have dual alignments in that he has evil thoughts, but teddy bear actions. Reminds me of Roman times, when the gladiator pounded down many a foe, and the ladies cooed and threw their scarfs at him! Forgive me Armisael, it may seem like that comment just ruined your reputation, but in actuality it just boosted your ego!

Armisael 02-02-2001 10:24 PM

I'm on whatever team's winning (and has the most money). All the more scarves for me.

Cloudbringer 02-02-2001 10:38 PM

LOL! We'll run out of scarves, Armisael!
Hmmm...dare I ask what it is you actually do WITH the scarves?

Talieson 02-02-2001 10:39 PM

Probably Chaotic Good. If I think something needs to be changed for the good, I just change it and forget the rules. I live by one rule. It's easier to get forgiveness than permission. Drives my boss crazy sometimes. but it gets the job done.

turbovee 02-02-2001 10:49 PM

Definitley chaotic good.

It would seem like this poll has shown us that most of us are chaotic good. I am definitely a strong individualist with little need for standards or rules. Yet I joined the military. What's up with that?

Armisael 02-02-2001 10:51 PM

Hmm... sell them to trendies?

Cloudbringer 02-02-2001 10:55 PM

Hear that, Ladyzekke? He's selling our favors already! hahaha

Armisael 02-02-2001 10:57 PM

Oh, alright. I'll learn to knit and make them into a big quilt which I'll publish a photo of in my paper, then sell to trendies. Better?

Cloudbringer 02-03-2001 12:00 AM

well...ok, I suppose that's better!

Hmmmm, so there might be a profit to be made on selling our favors? Oh, ladyzekke...!

Armisael 02-03-2001 12:06 AM

Aye, there's profit wherever you care to look in the City of Coin. Have a care though, Cloudbringer, or you'll be lured over to the dark side.
Ah, who cares, there's already enough 'chaotic good' people running around on this bloody board...
Hmm, my mind took a detour through the gutter from that bit about 'selling favours'.

BLACK KNIGHT 02-03-2001 12:40 AM

I would have to say True Chaotic. Just Bad enought to make the Ladies like me, just good enough to be able to go home to meet their moms and dads.

And what is all this talk about selling LadyWendy's and Cloudbringers Favours? Part of me want to rush in to defend their honors . . . part of me want to ask how much . . .

BK

Yorick 02-03-2001 01:06 AM

Neutral Good.

Armisael 02-03-2001 01:39 AM

If I knew it was going to stretch this thread out so much I would've just worn the damn things.
Or maybe savoured them lovingly on cold, lonely nights in the gladiator pits...
Nah.

Memnoch 02-03-2001 03:58 AM

Chaotic Good with neutral tendencies.

Is Attila the Hun still your hero Armie?

Getting close to the big double millenium there, mate...

WOLFGIR 02-03-2001 04:34 AM

Well I consider myself being Chaotic good, I feel very much atuned to the Ranger philosophy, tends always towards good but is always nagging the Paladin about the way to do it.. =)

Though when taking tests I always seem to come out as neutral good with chaotic tendencies or neutral..

Well what do they know about me after 20 questions, when I hardly no myself?

The Corinthian 02-03-2001 05:48 AM

Hmmmm, interesting question.
Chaotic good for me I think with leanings towards Lawful good *sigh*.

Armisael 02-03-2001 05:49 AM

Attilla the Hun? Nah. I'm more interested in making money than proving a point. Nobody on the bloody list fit that description, though, so I picked old Attilla, since Darth Vader probably wasn't very interested in the lolly.

Moiraine 02-03-2001 06:37 AM

I was trying to find the English translation of my favourite Silk sentence (Belgariad) for Armie (literally, "Life is a game, and money is only a way to count the points"), when I stumbled on this page "Why did the chicken cross the road ?", very very very funny for any David Eddings fan :

http://www.angelfire.com/on2/silkofd...k/chicken.html

Enjoy !

Armisael 02-03-2001 06:48 AM

Hahaha! I've got to read those books.

fighter-thief 02-03-2001 06:51 AM

actually i'm going with Lawful neutral i'm the type that follows orders and Father Bronze i think you might be when you say to your students i don't make the rules i just enforce them

Zoratorak 02-03-2001 07:24 AM

gee... this is already the third (or fourth) thread i have seen which is like this ...

lets see now... im chaotic good... (in a way lawful good by the alignment test)

Lillie 02-03-2001 10:14 AM
