So, what NPCs (not party members, that's another thread), locations, and monsters would you like to be put in BG3?

Me, I think it'd be kinda cool if you could go to maybe Sigil (and meet up with Morte, Grace, Annah, and/or Nordom from Torment), or possibly the Greyhawk world (Oerth). I also think it would be cool if they managed to make it 3E and put in the full Third Edition Player's Handbook compliment of weapons. It would really be nice to get a few more missile weapons besides Bows and Slings.

I'd love to see it take place in the areas around WAterdeep. Your good behaviour is upsetting Bhaal worshippers so now you're badly hunted night and day! Better weapons (+7 or something) and better dragons. I mean a dragons fav method of attack is to fly over his attackers and throw huge rocks at 'em and use his breath weapon.

Armisael 01-16-2001 10:07 PM

Never had a dragon throw rocks at me, but I agree, they're tame compared to what they should be like. I'm not going to say anything about 3E until I actually see how it works, but I'm perfectly happy with 2E for the time being. Some better weapons, more +5s, Waterdeep or Kara-Tur, perhaps a better developed game path for evil characters, a tarrasque - I'm tired of feeling so powerful as the almighty HUMAN PLAYER - maybe some cellestials, an archon or two, the option to get in on the blood war, that spectator beholder from the Sahuagin city, a group of line-dancing liches, you get the idea.

Hmmm... BG3 would be like one of the most versatile games if it incorporated itself with the other planes as well (Torment). If the game includes planar travelling and Icewind Dale areas, this would mean MORE monsters. And If you include the Celestial Planes and the WHOLE of Nine Hells, MORE and MORE monster baddies! This might be LONGEST game and most versatile, but alas, methinks that this game cannot be handled by old joe CPUs because of the tremendous memory capacity it has... commonsense.

Waterdeep definatly
maybe even the undermountain

Memnoch 01-17-2001 03:56 AM

Waterdeep - so much scope for intrigue, adventure, high level foes, everything.

You're reaching round about the upper levels of heroism now though, to put things in perspective about potential foes, here's a list of prominent villains and their levels:

Manshoon - Leader of the Zhentarim - 19th level human mage
Artemis Entreri - famed assassin - 11th level human thief/15th level fighter
Elaith Craulnober - 9th level mage elven mage/ 9th level fighter
Fzoul Chembryl - 16th level human priest
Halaster Blackcloak - Mad Mage of Undermountain - 30th level human mage (who's lived for millenia - older than elminster!!!)
Jarlaxle - leader of Bregan D'aerthe - 17th level drow fighter
Lord Orgauth - Lord of Zhentil Keep - 10th level male fighter
Sememmon - Lord of Darkhold - 15th level human mage
Szass Tam - Zulkir of Necromancy, Thay - 29th level necromancer lich
Kymil Nimesin - gold elf 12th level fighter

So at the end of my game Viconia had leveled up higher than Fzoul Chembryl who is a BIG TIME baddie in Faerun.

Make no mistakes, your group can kick some hardcore ass.

Tobbin 01-17-2001 06:21 AM

Oh hey, didn't we kill Fzoul Chembryl in the gold box series? LOL

Hmm, could someone tell me how to put those animations into the post, and if they would work on another board.

Definitely not a place with no sky. I hate the Underdark. And the Drows. I feel like Imoen for once "This place is just too damn creepy, I really want out of here". Damn my husband who wants to visit everywhere. I JUST WANT OUT !!!

Memnoch 01-17-2001 08:40 AM

Chutney, click on the help link at the top of the page.

Tobbin 01-17-2001 08:44 AM

You almost had it.

You gotta surround that by brackets.

As for the question about other boards, if they accept ultra-board code, then yes, otherwise, probably not.

Memnoch 01-17-2001 08:48 AM

you also need to get rid of the spaces before and after the = sign

Tobbin 01-17-2001 08:58 AM

I just wish that they would have put the Spiritual Hammer up there. That one is totally funny. The way it swerves around and then finally plops down and the screen shakes. LOL. My favorite though, has to be Abyssal Fury. Some people say Celestial, but I really like watching the ground crack open and a bony skeletal hand reaching up and grabbing your enemy. Then pulling them down into the pit that opened up. Then watching the bones spit out of the ground and then the ground sealing back up. Totally awesome.

Tobbin 01-17-2001 09:20 AM

Sorry about that Memnoch, I musta been editing that message when you posted that response. I tried to fix it so your response would make sense, but it wouldn't let me change it anymore. Da*n that formatting. LOL. I kept playing with it til I got it the way I wanted it.

Cyin_Dyhacer 01-17-2001 03:36 PM

I would like to see Giants in BG3. In Bg2 you can get girdles of various Giant strengths, like frost, fire and stone giants. They would tuff and exciting fights.

The-Shark 01-17-2001 07:48 PM

Without a doubt, there need to be some IMPORTANT outdoor fights, because I felt that Call Lightning was about the most useless spell in the whole game, do to what seemed like 95% of all fights being indoors.

For famous FR NPCs, I wouldn't mind having the Simbul, the Witch-Queen of Rashamon. She's a level 27 (I think) mage, though for D&D they changed her class to sorcerer. Maybe there could be a Minsc related quest that let's you get over there from wherever you start.

Oh, to Bahamut:

I was just puttin' down some ideas. Seeing as to how you already end up on a few alternate planes in this game, I was thinking "so why don't we make a side-trip to the center of the Multiverse?" Obviously, we couldn't have ALL the planes (I think that would take up more memory than my entire Hard Drive).

The Tarasque would definately be a cool monster (except that it takes a Wish to kill it). I don't think that we'll see any "real" dragon fighting techniques, since from my *very* limited understand, the Infinity Engine is basically limited to what amounts to a 2-D playing field with no vertical stuff (or those dragons would really spank you).

Bahamut 01-17-2001 08:00 PM

Maybe even more than 10 gigs full install that is... well... with what Memnoch said, they are all a bunch o' wimps compared to all our party members by the end of BG2. Halaster looks quite a fiesty opponent... hehe... and geez, Zhentil Keep is in Waterdeep? Lost my history books I believe. My choice is Waterdeep to complete the areas always discussed in BG1 and 2! : )
