They won't have too many return so I'd say Imoen and Minsc because of their personal connection to character and all the romance interests to continue them. Jan Jansen should also return even though he'll create a lot of extra work for the dialogue writers.

Ok, I know I'm gonna take a lot of flak for this, but I would like to keep Nalia, Viconia, Imoen, Minsc, and Korgan. I know none of you like Nalia, but I think she's pretty cool. She's saved my bu*t a lot, I tell ya.

One thing (only thing) Nalia had going for her is that she has quite an interesting quest.

I'd want Shar-Teel, Kivan (all-time favorite for personality plus) and maybe Coran from BG1.

From BG2 I'd want Viconia, Jaheira, Edwin, Korgan, Imoen (of course) and Minsc.

They might not be in BG3 but they will definitely be in the expansion.

Mebey I replace Vicona for Garrick, becouse I like Garrick,Our Dynaheir, She is a great mage.

back: Minsc, Jaheira, Imoen. Since Keldorn and Aerie were my remaining party members, for sentimental reasons, I would like to have at least a chance to stop by to see how they are doing - even if they are not available as party members anymore. Viconia, Edwin and Jan are npcs with interesting personalities. Nalia has got potential, once she sheds her naivete.

Me personally, I like having new personalities to play with. We already know what these guys can do. But if I have to choose, I would Pick Minsc (Gotta have Boo) and my personal character from BG1 (Paladin 18/99, 18, 18, 17, 17, 18 natural roll plus books for dex, con, and wisdom that were in BG1) and Imoen.

From BGII, Anomen, Korgan and Aerie.

ehm it seem that it actually becam 6 from bg and 5 from bg 2 as edwin viconia and imoen were in bg aswell

i would like for them to bring as many as possible for extra quest purposes,but even have some sort of memrory built in to your chr so that if you killed off 1 or 2 players ,that in the following game they bring them back accordingly(ie;if you killed edwin in the bg2......he comes back as a powerful lich that's obsessed with your death,but if you helped him then he offers you certain quest that reward you with spells/items.I sure hope that the 3r one will be for the higher classed,with artifacts that actually DO have real maelovent side effects!!!

Cleric, there is no "code" for a cleric elven male, you need to download Infinity Engine Explorer, and look for it in the Graphics section, export it, then upload it, then link it, like this

eeeh hmm...most of you people seem to pick all the NPCs for BG1 who were in BG2 also. I mean, Jaheira and Viconia...the most boring people there is. so take a look at my (I think at least) funny list.

1.Coran for his love for women.
2.Shar-Teel for her hate for men.
3.Ajantis for his pink helmet. hehe
BG2
1.Edwin for his spells and temperament. (bad spelling?)
2.Minsc for his small brain but heroic mind.
3.Jan Jansen for his very big and happy family that he always talk about.

I thought Ajantis was a bit of an idiot (By Helm! Yeah!), but anyway. What's so interesting about Valygar? And Viconia and Jaheira - boring? They were two of the most interesting characters in BG2, especially Jaheira, who had quests up to her neck.

Valygar is very strong don't overlook that

Well sure, he's fairly strong, but you've got to admit that as a character he's a non-event.

The npc i want to see again is that really depressed elven mage from bg1- can't remember his name though. 'As leader I will endeavor not to get you all killed.' Fantastic.

BG1 - Montaron and xzar.

BG2 - My bloke, Nalia, Aerie, Yoshimo, Jaheira. Maybe Minsc or Valygar.

Imoen...pah. She sucks.
She was a good thief in BG1 and I liked her. Theres far too few thieves in BG2 and I'm gutted Imoen has gone all "magical" on me.

All my crew got to lev 13 to 17 or so before I went to get her back (I'm there now) so she's so far behind now that there's no point in using her anymore...it'll take an age before she catches my two other mages up. (Aerie, Nalia). Does Imoen have something going for her that I'm unaware of....don't look like it.

Also, didn't Mazzy die...or have the late nights made me forgetful.


P.S.... Is BG3 on the way?

I don´t like Jaheira in BG2 because of how much I hated her in BG1...she was so boring so I told myself not to play her in BG2. I just don´t like her. And Viconia is a cleric. I don´t like clerics because they don´t have any funnt kits...does these answers satisfy you?

No, it sounds pretty shallow-minded and stupid to me, to be honest.
Charlie, yeah, I don't like Imoen much either. She plays a pretty big part in the game's plot, at least up to chapter five. As far as I'm concerned, though, that doesn't make up for her stupid decision to dual to a mage. You're right, there aren't many decent thieves, and there goes one more. : (
Mazzy, die? Well, maybe, but you can just get her raised, right? Yoshimo died. He was a great character, as well... bugrit.

It's been so long since I played BG1 that I cannot remember the NPCs too well.

However, my favorite BG2 npc's are:

1. Jahiera
2. Mazzy
3. Valygar

Y'know... were a BG3 to be written using the DnD 3rd edition rules as I've heard of them, Mazzy would get her wish to be a Paladin for for her goddess, Avoreen!!! Actually, if you look at her special abilities, she has some paladin-ish abilities.

FYI, for those that mentioned Ajantis above, if I'm not mistaken, you (the PC) kill him when you first enter the Windspear Hills. I think that he is one of the knights that is disguised by Fiirkrag's illusions.

I've heard that a couple of times, though I've got no idea how anyone came to that conclusion.

Probably because one of the knights shouted "By Helm!"

Okay, here's a reason to keep Imoan: She gets an extra spell slot for each spell level. This really improves her ability to clobber enemies.

I freed Mazzy, and dropped Valygar to take her, in the ruins.
Then, at the end of the ruins, I took back Valygar and dropped Mazzy.
She then said that she would wait for me in her house in Trademeet, but then when I got there, she was not in her house.
(Or maybe I have mistaken the house ? A house in the center of town, full of halflings ?)

Yeah I finished that quest, probably didn't pay enough attention. Now I'm really gonna take the p**s....where's Korgan? I don't think I've met him yet...unless he was the paladin bloke from the sewers. I don't remember him in the C. Coronet. If my meeting with him is unavoidable then please disregard this. Otherwise a hint would be nice. Once I'm outta the place I'm in now I've just gotta give Imoen the sack and get another sensible party member.

The only trouble with asking for characters to return from BG1 is that most of them have had some sort of tie-in with BG2. Coran, if I'm not mistaken, is killed (or you kill him) in a side quest in Chapter 6/7, along w/Safana. You kill Ajantis at the begining of the Windspear Hills quest, we all know what happens to Xzar and Montaron, Khalid and Dynaheir are dead, Garrick is in the Temple district w/his gnomish companion just outside the Paladin stronghold, and there are more that you meet that I can't remember.

Anyway, for the NPC's I'd like to see return:

BG1
Imoen (duh)
Minsc (serious comic relief--perhaps we learn more about Boo?)
Jaheira (after all the romance stuff, c'mon! plus, she's a great druid)
Edwin (good mage, well defined--if annoying--personality)
Viconia (seen her pic? 'nuf said)

BG2
Aerie (for all the romantics that like her, despite the fact that she's a whining barbie doll)
Jan (one word--turnips)
Korgan (the evil counterpart to Minsc. also a really good fighter)

Personally, all the other NPC are too boring (Mazzy, Valygar and Cernd), REALLY annoying (Nalia and Anomen), too old (Keldorn), or just plain useless (Haer Dalis).

Also, be sure to remember that many of the NPC's may return, but not be joinable. One of the problems I've had with BG2 is the lack of joinable NPC's, specifically in the thief area. Just my 2 cents worth.

Got to agree with you despite my earlier preferences; Mazzy is fairly boring, and yes, Aerie is definitely a whining barbie doll, and Nalia and Anomen are utterly annoying, and there aren't enough thieves. I think we're reading from the same script.
And on that note, damn I wish Yoshimo would come back. Too funny and useful to be killed off as a character.

I never ran into Coran or Safana in Chap 6 and 7 and I thought I finished pretty much every quest there was to be done. Was it a class-specific quest?

You know those three little no-point places that appear on yor map in chapter six? The Forest of Tethir actually has a quest in it, and it involves Coran, Sathana, and a female werewolf who's taken an interest in the blundering elf.
As for Aerie, I wouldn't go so far as a dumptruck, but I still swear to god she has a monobrow. A factory second, perhaps.
