The idea came to me when I was watching the posts in the 'Real stats' thread,
and I thought 'Hey ! I am not a number !'.

The alignment is a very interesting approximation of somebody's personnality. And I am curious of who you are all !
So please feel free to say the truth or lie about yourselves at length !

Hey Moiraine, I actually started a thread on this a while back but it kind of got canned because of the crash i think, or maybe it freefell down all the way to page 29! Anyway good for you to revive it in a way.

Neutral good with chaotic tendencies.

Oh, I forgot : I think I am a Chaotic Good person.

I am lawful to people I love, but I am not a fanatic of ideas and laws.
I hate people knowing better than me what I should do (The chaotic side).

I enjoy playing characters at the exact opposite of my real personnality (this is much more of a challenge), but I do not really know if it is harder to play an Evil character or a true neutral one, as a True Neutral character has to be cool-blooded all the time, which I am not.

I find it taxing to play lawful characters because it is very uncomfortable to want to slap yourself in the face most of the time !

Neutral Good. I've respected and protected my conscience over the years and find doing something REALLY EVIL in an RPG quite difficult. I get into the game and put myself in the victims shoes and then feel guilty about pickpocketing them or something. (I was pickpocketed last month and it was ANNOYING!)

I usually play Neutral Good but played my third game through as a Chaotic Evil Talosian Cleric. Man it was hard, but pretty funny. He was a sick individual. Still, as I've stated before, a truly good character couldn't even finish the game. ('Necessity' of taking human life.)

Guess I'm a wierdo huh?

Two months ago I thought I was chaotic neutral. That alignment test we all took a while back told me I was chaotic evil. Take your pick. : P

Hey, I did the alignment test! (A big effort for me as some of you may have read my tirade against personality tests that got lost in the ether) and guess what I am.....

I passed the test and I ended up Neutral Good (with a slight Chaos tendancy).
I guess it is because I do not really think that all forms of law should disappear. Otherwise, nice people would inevitably get eaten by bad guys.

Either we've got a truckload of kind, friendly people here, or a few that aren't doing the test properly. It's not an IQ test - the higher your score, the better - so just be honest. Evil doesn't necessarily mean you're a bad person, it just means you're self-centered, which I have no qualms about admitting.

What's wrong with having a truckload of kind friendly people out there?
Pity the whole word isn't putting others needs first.

Me, I like to believe that I am Chaotic Nuetral, I just do whatever I feel like doing at the moment.. (TO A CERTAIN EXTENT). Sometimes i'll go do some really nice things, other times i'll do some crazy stuff, you get the idea. I prefer playing an evil character in BG2 for the sole reason that if anyone PISSES ME OFF, I know its not against myself to just open up a can o whoop ass.

I think that peoples alignments if you could give them these would be changing all the time.When i took the align ment test sevral times on differnet days i got a differnt result each time. Peoples lives and opinions would make their alignments constantly changeing. Look at hitler for example,
When he first joined the nazi party he could have been lawful neutral beliveing that the most important duty was to restore order to germany by any means. As he was corrupted by the pary he may have turned to neutral evil i.e prepard to play the anti-semetic card to gain power and then do anything to hold on to power(the brutal repressions). And as he was loseing the war he went mad sacking genreals right and left and blameing his failure on plots and jews and had wild tantrums,chaotic evil he had become. And you hear of normal people who murder others over gold etc like in the treasure of the sieirra madre. not all people are like this some maybe are always good etc, but to an extent "alignment" depends on circumstances i think

Hah! I liked this test. Turns out I'm Neutral Evil. I always play Chaotic Neutral or Evil characters though. I consider myself to be Chaotic Neutral in Real Life.

Took the test, turns out I was exactly what I considered myself to be before taking the test, and that being Neutral Good.

Tests say I'm Chaotic Good, which is another way of saying the end justifies the means. Heh, I can do anything and convince people I'm a nice guy. Or does that mean I'm rotten deep down?

My alignment really depends on the situation:

At School = Chaotic Evil (expect for exams where there is the teacher's deadly spell of forcing everyone into silence = Lawful Good!!)

At Home = Chaotic Good (Heh heh - no details on this one)

Kung Fu Training = Lawful Good (or else!!!!.............)

And finally when I hang out with the guys = Lawful Evil

(no we're not thieves, bandits or drunkards - just a touch on the naughty/bad side.

CHAOTIC GOOD. Too bad we can't separate it in threes, because humans are very complex. In other words, I think realistically I'm Chaotic, good and neutral (instead of lawful). I believe in good, but there are many aspects of the law in which I have a problem with. I am definitely for the death penalty (immediately) for ones who have done hideous crimes. I have no problem with revenge (ergo, neutral). On the other hand, I have great love for the human race and can forgive much as long as the person is truly remorseful (ergo, good). The Chaotic part comes in when someone really betrays me, and it is an emotional personal thing. Then all reason seems to leave me. I don't get violent, but that person WILL pay!

Littlemage, that's why I hate personality tests, especially because others then box people on results from those tests.

Did it 2 times, first was chaotic good, which I am playing a Ranger with that alignment. Second time I was neutral with good tendencies. Always with this good thing, but I guess it isn't bad after all. Long time ago when I was playing D&D most of my characters where CG...funny how that works out.

Oh well back to killing the evil of the world...

My ex-wife works for Pacific, so I got a window into the world of the print media. Even got paid a couple of times for writing a few columns myself. I'd imagine a newspaper to be different world though.

I guess I'm the same type I play: Chaotic Good but leaning toward nasty - "Kill 'em all and let the gods sort them out!" LOL

According to the quizz, I am Neutral Good with a Chaotic tendancy, and my husband is Neutral Good with a Lawful tendancy.
It fits rather well, really !
However, I feel more comfortable playing Chaotic Good or Chaotic Neutral in RPGs. I think it is because, in real life, I must admit that laws are necessary to protect good people from bad guys, but I am not enthusiastic about that. In RPGs, I am free to dismiss laws at will, as good guys and bad guys are not real people !
Besides, I love playing Thiefs, I prefer looting bad guys, but I want to keep all the money for me !
