I read somewhere that I need a weapon of +5...
is this true?

I think protection from undead the spell is the same as the scroll. If you have protection from undead on, Kangaxx will not die. Take it off and try again. You need a +4 or better weapon to damage his second form, though, and he's going to be casting a lot of imprisonments, so be warned. If you don't have an appropriate weapon I'd suggest summoning a fire elemental and using a protection from magic scroll on it, or having your mage use melf's minute meteors, either way. Only problem is you tend to run out of meteors before Kangaxx dies.

I think I have a weapon which is +4 (daystar) but that is only against undead, does that count?
I am going to leave that fight till later anyway... onto Firkraag... *Shivers*

Another thing you can do is to have your mages cast Melf's Minute Meteors and start throwing at Kagaxx. It works even for only small damages.

cast 5 protection scrolls on party members leave one unprotected,
then set as many traps as you can as soon as kangaxx comes out he will die,
then as he transforms, use one protection scroll on the unportected member,
he wont recognize anybody and you can beat him to death,

Ok, so I cast 5 protection form undead, and then after he changes, cast another one, cast minute meteors, and pummel him to death?

Is this guy the demon-looking fellow you run into at the temple in the lower levels of the sewers while doing the Unseeing eye quest? If so I can tell you how I beat him....spoilers(don't really care when I read them but I think some people don't like them so read below if you want and if I am even talking about the right guy...)













To kill the guy in the unseeing eye quest temple...you just need heal him once or twice and he perishes(for a time), then the avatar will appear and talk with you.

but remeber before he apears to steal the ring from him
so when you finally beat him you have 2 rings of gaxx
which is totally kewl,
you can do the same with the ring of ram,
before you go the sphere just steal the ring from the guy
and you get it again when you beat him

So you steal it from him before he appears?
please explain, it doesn't quite make sense to me...

If you manage to get the holy avenger into a paladin's hands or your a mage and managed to get the staff of the magi from the twisted rune you can whack away at him. Protection from magic spells are good to

when you click on his coffin,
shortly before he starts (lich form not demi lich form) talking press pause and use your thief to steal from him
