I downloaded the files from the collector's cd (yeah yeah I know it might be unfair...but I just couldn't get the real collector's edition and I just HAD to know what was on it) and I found the two new merchants in the Copper Coronet. I was just wondering if anyone knows if there is more to this cd, or if this is all that you get?
|
Nope, that's it. A little disappointing when you think about it. Then again, I guess they weren't meant to be expansions, and the items are useful, so it's not too bad.
|
2? OK, I have then missed something.. Can anyone tell EXACTLY where and what merchants this CE puts into BG2? I know about one of them, the Deirdre or Deidre something in Adventurer's Mart, she sells Balduran items, as well Robe of Vecna, Dak'kon Blade etc. Where are the other vendors then? Which area/building, what are their names? Thanks in advance.

There's only one, and that's Deidre. The other merchant you get with the Bonus CD. His name's Joluv. You can find him in the Copper Coronet around that big souvlaki area. He's the merchant-looking guy who's not sitting down.
|
Joluvs stuff seemed inordinately expensive.
|
Yes, especially considering a lot of it was crap.
|
On the plus side, Joluv sells the only +5 sling in the game. He also sells the only 2 excellent magical weopons that are suited to a Monk for those who play as one.
|
The sling of everard is a very good weapon. Doesn't it cost something like thirty-thousand?
|
heh, ya 25k, but hey I had the cash There is no enemy that it can't hit. Plus it never needs ammo, which is also a nice feature.
|
You do get a little more than the merchants. You also get some added soundtracks as well. For the most part, you won't notice that much of a difference though. It is a little more convenient than having to use Shadow Keeper, but really, you can use that program to access the items as well.
|
Ah I see.. I dowloaded the CE pack from some link, what some kind person here posted once
Is there any place from where I could download the Bonus CD also? Would be nice to see what that other vendor has to offer. Yes, I know that ShadowKeeper can do it all and more, but I'll avoid it for now |
I've been trying to get the Collector's Edition EVERYWHERE, but I can't find it. I guess I have to resort to downloading the bonus disks. Where can I download the Bonus CD and the other CD that came with preordering the game?
P.S. Is there another way to get those 20 items? |
Try here:

Yes, you can get those items by CreateItem code, they are already in the game to begin with.

Well, you "DO" get a nice T-Shirt with it of course.
And I gave the extra copy of BG2 to a good friend as a birthday present so I guess I killed 2 birds with one stone. He didn't like the t-shirt anyway, so I got that instead and I also got the nice posters too - hehehe. But I can't wait to kill him on multiplayer soon HAHAHAHAHA!!! ------------------ http://www.gis.net/~yos/lichwah.gif Greetings mortals, my name is Wah, Arch Lich Wah. |
I just downloaded the files that add the two merchants to the game. If those don't work then I'll consider importing them into the game using cheats. What are the exact item codes for the 20 bonus items? Also, are there any other items included in the game files but not present in the game?

Whoa, based on the time that the posts were made, it looks like I saw the first response to my question, posted my follow-up question, and then saw that the answer was already there! And here I thought that you guys only took a few minutes to answer my question. In reality, you took negative minutes! Thanks for answering my question before I even asked it! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif
Thanks for the welcome, guys. Just so everyone knows, I don't like cheating that much but I guess I have to resort to it since I can't buy the Collector's Edition. Heh, I can't pay money even though I want to! http://www.tgeweb.com/ironworks/cgi-...iles/smile.gif |

You also get the maual in it's spiral bound 260 page glory, a cloth map, and collectible trading cards. The best part is that the collectors cd has almost all the battle tracks(my favorite musics in the game) and they are in cd track format, so I can just pop the collectors into any cd player instead of routing around in the acm files and converting everything. Those acm files are damned annoying to convert because they are split up into tons of 10 second bites for most of the musics. The collector's cd also has some character and concept art and some of the character sound clips in mp3 format.
[edit]There are cards, but come to think of it, they are neither collectible nor tradeable. You get around 14, and the only way you get them is buying the 50-60 dollar collector's edition that they come packaged with. They are a cute bonus though.
