I have the flail and the other part for it. It says that if I had all the parts for it then it will be a valuable weapon. Where all the parts in the stronghold or are they hidden somewhere else? Can I take this to Cromwell and have him put it together? I was just curious because if it's worth my time then I will keep it, if not then I will sell it. Any suggestions or help on this??

There are three parts to the Flail of Ages. One is in the secret room beyond the forge, another is on the corpse of the possessed guard, and the third is in one of the statues in the Hall of Golems. It can be assembled in any order by the forge in the keep, and it's a very, very good weapon.

I got the part from the Golem hall but I didn't get anything from a possessed guard. Where was this guard? I never ran into one. Will I be able to go back and get it or is it too late now? Thanks for your help.

He was the Captain of the guard, you would have run into him on the second floor after passing through a couple of secret doors. Nalia makes a few comments about him when you run into him. He makes some comment about serving his new master. The room looks sort of like a small dining hall. It's a good weopon, does fire, ice and acid damage. I keep it on my Kensai for finishing off Trolls since he can only fight up close and personal. Oh, and I have never found a merchant that would buy it, I wouldn't sell it but have noticed that the Flail of Ages is always darkened out and can't be selected when dealing with a merchant in my experience that is.

I didn't run into that guy but will I be able to go back and get it? I am in Chapter 3 doing the quests so I can get Imoen back. I hope that I will be able to go back. Thank for your help The.Relic.

If you have already gone outside then no. Everything in the keep resets to empty once you go outside after completing the quest. I found this out the hardway myself. I had left 2 of the heads in a chest next to the smithy in the basement. Not knowing the keep layout I accidentally went outside thinking I was going upstairs. I went back inside and everything was gone, even the Golem that I had escaped from. Fortunately I had a save that wasn't too old. My pleasure, most people on this board are extremely friendly and helpful

The code for the flail head you're looking for (I believe the guard was supposed to drop the acid one) is CLUAConsole:CreateItem("BLUN14C"). It's not really cheating; the bloody castle's yours anyway.

draconia 11-27-2000 11:55 PM

Well darn, I don't have a game saved from that quest. I guess next time I start over I know what to do. I have noticed that everyone here is really nice and friendly. I have posted questions on other websites and some are not too friendly. I really like coming here. I am really new here so it makes it nice to come back when ppl are nice and willing to help. Thanks again The.Relic. I hope next time I start a game and go do this quest, I remember to get the other part to the flail. Is it still usable with two parts?

draconia 11-27-2000 11:58 PM

I have never tried to put in codes for things. How do I do that?

The.Relic 11-27-2000 11:59 PM

Draconia, your nik seems female, I ask because if you are, a female fighter on another board was asking if female fighters could get the keep as their stronghold. She wants the Keep and I don't blame her for not wanting to have to play as a male just to get it.
If you don't feel like saying no prob..
And if I misread and you are male, I apologize most profusely....

Armisael 11-28-2000 12:02 AM

Fairly simple. Open up baldur.ini in the BG2 root directory, and add the line 'Debug Mode=1' under '[Program Options]'. Press control & space together in the game and the console will pop up. Then just type in the code. Good luck.

draconia 11-28-2000 12:03 AM

I am female but my character in BG2 is male. He is a thief so I didn't get the keep. Nalia didn't offer it to me. I also have another character that is female but I she sucks so I stick with my male thief.

The.Relic 11-28-2000 12:04 AM

Ok thanx, you only get offered the Keep if you are one of the fighter class.

draconia 11-28-2000 12:05 AM

Thanks Armisael. I will try that.

draconia 11-28-2000 12:09 AM

Your welcome The.Relic. Maybe next time I will try a fighter class so I can get the keep. Sounds like it might be fun to have it. Do you have to keep Nalia in your party to have the keep?

The.Relic 11-28-2000 12:22 AM

I kept Nalia in my party until after I solved her side quest to prove that Lord Roenel was a crook. The Keep is a lot of fun. You have a bunch of little mini quests pop up every week or so requiring your presense in order to resolve some matter regarding your holdings. Most are dialogue matters with options ranging from treating the individual/s harshly as previous custom dictates, to showing compassion, which often costs you some money to help out. So far I have chosen the compassionate route and been correct. My current status within the holdings is that I am as loved as Lord D'Arnise if not moreso.
It is funny going around and being called Lord.
You also get 500 gold or more per week depending on what you set the tax rate at.
And of course the Roenel's have come with an ultimatum demanding I give up the keep or they will bring their army and take it. Heh, I am looking forward to that.
I even had a priest come and offer to work at the Keep, so now I get gold, a free place to rest and I have a priest to buy potions or spells from and get healings if I need them.
You get XP's for resolving each little quest that comes up.
It has been fun....
Nice to have another lady on the board...

draconia 11-28-2000 12:27 AM

Wow, that sounds like alot of fun, now I am going to have to start a game with a fighter. Thanks again, The.Relic for all the info. Thanks for making me feel so welcome here. I am definitely going to have to keep coming back here.

The.Relic 11-28-2000 12:43 AM

Please do Draconia, as I mentioned you will find nearly everyone here very freindly and helpful. This is one of the most flame free boards I have ever seen. And the moderators here are very good. We had a recent problem with a couple of newb Flamers who are forever to remain nameless They were banned withing 3 days. I think you will like the people here. Good night.
