I have read about this blasted bug where Jaheira refuses to move or moves only in small increments over at the BG Dungeon Tavern. Blast it, I was in the Umar Hills and she suddenly came down with it. Does anyone else here have it, or has had it and found a solution. From what I understand the Beta patch did not mention addressing it, and several people said that the patch caused some serious THACO, inventory and quick item usage problems, so I really don't want to d/l it yet. Any suggestions, this is most annoying.

I had this similar problem before, that was after I installed the romance script(from BG2 Dungeon)
where you can have love with Jeheira, Aerie and Viconia simultaneously
Maybe the software just cant handle my main character does threesome I guess,
well, this problem disappered after I deleted that script.

That's the trigger for it. If you install the romance script some period after that (right away for me) Jaheira starts walking, stopping, hobbling, it's really annoying as everyone has to wait for her (really inconvenient when you arrive at a fight and she's half a screen away).

Curiously which chapter did this bug happen for you The.Relic and ironfist? That might help to isolate the specific sequence that triggers it off.

Actually, I installed the script after I was through with Viconia(I felt it was quite boring
without any lovechat), so I cheated, hehe
It happened in chapter 3. I suppose that the romance script only works if you start a new
game and not in the middle of the game, or maybe it is something else?
Any ideas?

I have had the romance script since I started the game and have been playing for weeks with no problem. i have been doing all the quests in chapter 2 and 3 bofore moving on to chapter 4. I had completed Umar Hills and it happened as I was moving to a travel location.

The.Relic, maybe you'll delete the script and see if it would be the solution.

I got that, too. Funnily enough, I removed her amulet of power and ring of gaxx, and she stopped hobbling. Very strange.

Well, on my part, I installed the romance hack when I was in chapter 6. So far, no problems. And Im playing a whole new game, so Ill see when it happens and stuff...

I am a little lost, you can actually have your characters make love??? I am new here so I haven't really read thru all of the posts. I had no idea that this was possible.

Well, sort of. Dialogue pops up from time to time, and eventually leads to that.

Not Jaheira....but in my game, Aerie did that! After her fight with Anomen, she started hobbling all over the show. Wondering whether it was a bug or a feature (feeling sorry for herself), I trudged slowly to a pub, rested for several days and could not get rid of it. So I reloaded and booted Anomen out before their argument.

Draconia, don't worry, it doesn't show anything. You just go through the normal sleep sequence.

Unfortunately there doesn't seem to be any way to get over this stupid bug and I'm sure that Bioware won't address it in a patch since it's a third party file that appears to be causing it. I actually got so sick of it that I had to drop Jaheira from my group and when I tried to talk to her again I couldn't, it was like she was still in the group.

Ack.... Memnoch, are you saying that even if I remove the romance script, the problem will still occur? I held off on the patch when I saw how many people were having probs with it. In my opinion, Jaheira is one of the best all round all purpose NPC's in the game. With a -9 AC and +2 Scimitar she's a good back up tank, sling +3 she's great at range, and her spell casting ability make her truly versatile. I hate to drop her, but gadz.. this is really annoying.

Well, you were right. I removed the romance script and all movement is back to normal.

Incidentally, once you get past the dialogues that force you to take someone's side, you can ditch the replacement romance scripts with no hitches.

As a new gamer on here, I've only got the basic BGII package, where do I go to get the downloads and will I have to start again? Also should I be buying ToB now before completing BGII??
