ive been thinkin... ive been trying to complete all the side quests before i go to the shadow guild, and i find lotsa scrolls and let nalia and aerie memorize it... basically, they're pwetty powerful... there will still be two more chapters (?) before i can get imoen and the question is, when i save imoen, is it worth swapping nalia for imoen? oh and aerie can't be removed since i'm a good party and i have plans of throwing off jaheira for anomen or someone... help!

Personally I would go for Imoen for her higher thieving ability. Though she is not as strong as Nalia (her str is being 9 only), I'll just put a girdle of hill orge str on her to offset that.There's one drwaback though, her mage skill will not be as high as Nalia when u get her back. As for me, as long as Imoen have ability to cast breach (lvl 5 spell) she is a good enough mage for me .

Imoen is a waste of flesh, she is also one of Baal's childern so you should kill her off so you have less competition for the position of god.

Yes, Imoen is crap, she is a dualclassed level 7 thief that cannot progress in thieving skills and isnt much of a mage either. Shes a waste of an npc.

Imoen is the best NPC in the game. Her thief abilities are excellent so u don't need a thief, she has 18 dex and 17 int, great for a mage, she can shoot a bow, etc.

She is a bit annoying with her banter, but she is the best NPC in the game.

Anomen is the second best - you should keep him. Airie will never get past 14th/13th level in the game, so she sux for chap 4-7. She never gets the high level spells, and she has no HPs. Anomen has boss HPs, can get 7th level cleric spells by the end of chap 5, and can go full specialization in hammer/sling/mace since he was a pure fighter. His low wis doesn't matter - at lvl 18, you don't need a few low level bonus spells. Nothing better than a cleric with >100 hit points.

Yet you guys are forgetting that what makes this game interesting is the story and the challenge that comes with it...by taking Imoen, you are doing what would be done if you were reading about it...the only reason that you bought the game is for the challenge you hope it offers, and the story it tells...

Why else did you waste your money???To fly through it with the strongest chars. and finish in two days, then wonder when BGIII will be released??

The low wisdom of Anomen is no trouble at all, especially when he becomes a knight. His wisdom became 16 today in my game, when he was judged worthy by the Order of the Radient Heart.
I dislike his attitude, but he has an opinion about most decisions you take, and he is good.
I'm currently only in level 2, but anomen already has an ac of -8 (thanks to the fortress shield).

I also wonder about what to do when I have rescued Imoen, since it's a main part of the story.
My party currently consists of Arithor (fighter), Minsc, Boo, Anomen, Aerie, Nalia and Jan.

I could swap Jan for Imoen (some of his stories are funny, but he looks darn stupid...and is my main thief atm) but would only do that if Imoen is important for the storyline/character interaction.

To answer BaatoRyan, if you want to get rid of either Nalia or Aerie, you should get rid of Aerie since specialists are better (and Nalia is more a specialist then Aerie).

Well I have both Imoen and Nalia,They are a great team
together.My team is myself,minsc,jaheira,imoen,nalia,aerie and they are doing great,I think this is
the ultimate team to have.

Your team is great until the end of chap 3. After that, I would switch out the multi-classed chars. Plus, grab Keldorn soon or you won't be able to use the best weapon in the game...

Khaal has a longsword +3 and a battle axe +3 plus some boots of speed, so he's just a killing machine.

I've suped up everyone's armor and weapons and I've found that, for the moment, I merely need to use my two spellcasters as missile fire support and fear/hold foils...

I noticed you don't have a thief in your party... Tough to open those locks w/o one, especially since there is a bash bug in the game.

You can use the Mage spell, Knock. Even better, buy dozens of scrolls of it. Dirt cheap, they are.

You got jipped, mate. Aerie doesn't sleep with you until the end of her romance dialogue, and if you choose to sleep with her, she tells you where to go afterwards. Jaheira's romance is funnier. She gets annoyed if you DON'T sleep with her.

Why is allways the Question Imoen or Nahlia. Why not drop both of them and pick up Jan insted! He is much cooler, and he doesen't wine if you do a little evil.

Yeah, and he's... (counts on fingers) probably the third funniest character in the game, next to Minsc and Edwin respectively. Sure, bitch all you like about him being a multiclass, but dual-classed thieves are stupid.

Yup, Jan is the man (well gnome), good thieving skills and he makes an excellent backup for my kensai/mage...

Plus Imoen and Nalia are just plain annoying

If HaerDalis is the most overrated NPC in the game then Jan must be the most underrated one.
