Is there any way of being immune to this horrible horrible spell? besides negative plane protection (waaay too short)

being level drained is a massive pain.

and what spell gets rid of drains? does jaheria have it?

Restoration.

Level drain is just an annoyance. My best protection is surveying the enemies and sending in my one warrior with protection from level drain in to be attacked as others backed him up.

Wield a mace of disruption +2 for permanent NPP, or wear the amulet of power. There are a number of weapons in ToB which also provide it. To recover after being level drained, cast a restoration spell (see a temple if you dont have one).

Yeah I agree Negative Plane Protection is way too short. Here's what I did to counteract the affects of level drain:
1) Only non-spellcasters go into melee combat. That way when they do lose levels, they don't lose spells.
2) Those fighters must have very low armor classes. If they can't hit ya, they can't level drain ya.
3)After the fight is over, use lesser restoration (a 4th level cleric spell) to fix the fighters, then heal them back up to their normal hit points.
4) There is an amulet that has a lot of different powers (I forget what it's called). One of those powers is permanent Negative Plane Protection, put that on one of those fighters.

This method worked very well for me. Sure I got level drained but it was never anything catastrophic that required me to rest immediately.

Where does one find the Mace of Disruption in the game?

Sir Frances Drake 12-10-2001 01:37 AM

Hey Subotai,
for memory the Mace of disruption is in the Graveyard, i think you have too be on ch.3 at least and working for Aaron somethin or other and go fight Bodhi for the first time and in her crypt/home is a pool of blood in a room click it twice and you should get the mace

Yeah, that is where the mace is and if you do the illithium quest for Sir Sarles, give him the fake stuff and keep the real stuff to upgrade the mace to +2.

Not sure who does the upgrading though.....

Cromwell, in the docks district.

If you have a real good cleric you can send him on his/her own against vampires (Sanctuary + Turn Undead). An illustration: I usually kept Anomen until he reached around lvl 18-20. He alone destroyed Bodhi's flock of vampires in Chapter 6.

Which other weapons protect against level drain? And, welcome to the board, gabriel 986.
