in the personal inventory window.
on the right side, near the shoulders. 2 little windows, reserved for "misc items" i haven't found anything that fits there and am going nuts now, trying to find something that WILL fit. any ideas are welcomed. V***V   |
Hmmm..... Bracers? Medals? Parrots you buy that sit on your shoulder and make you look like a scurvy pirate?

LOL!!
::wonders if she can use that feather boa she found in a vintage clothing store:: V***V   |
This isn't the two slots for rings is it - I found one of those in my travels.
|
thanks, davros!
that's exactly what they are. ::blushing:: boy, do i feel dumb. i am playing thru a second time and i just found a tomb i overlooked the first time. inside there was a nice ROP+1. and the description, loud and clear, "equippable: miscellaneous slot 1 or 2". V***V  |
I also found a ring and it fit in that slot very nicely. Oh, and I already hate monsters called Swallowers...

SWALLOWERS?!
OK I have to go play more before my weekend is over! |
Just finished my playthrough :( - WANT MORE!!!!! Gee that was good (except for slow combat - tip, put combat speed and monster animations to MAX). I found 2 rings and an amulet that were equipable. And the Swallower - way cool. Took him out, but he swallowed my Monk. Had to cut him open to get her back. Reminds me of the Men in Black movie :D .

~~davros~~~
you did what? ::laughs so hard, she spits coke on her monitor:: V***V   |

Well, I re-installed the demo again since I lost the intitial saved game that it came with and replayed up to the Swallower this afternoon.
I don't know what the heck I did so right the last time, but this time the thing swallowed my fighter AND my priest and proceeded to flat-out kill everyone else! It was awesome! Now, to go figure out what it was I did right so I can get past it this time and try to get the key to the safe! :D :D :D :D :D |
See, they don't call em SWALLOWERS for nuttin :D .
|
Aye, on my first meeting with him (the big, bad, ultra-nasty Swallower) both my fighter and my monk were sorrowfully swallowed & I promptly lost the fight (actually, knocked him down to 20 hp before all of my magic spells & items ran out).
However, on the second pass through, he only swallowed my monk, and my fighter made up for the previous disaster...pounded the $&!# out of him! Now it's time to go back through, this time changing classes & experimenting to create power-house party! --Greystone |
well, i had a horrible experience my first outing with "Safflower"...
each time he lunged at the party, he took out a person. iona was one of the last, and at one point, she yelled that "You can't trust anyone anymore. Imagine that.... sneaking away in the middle of a battle. Hmmpph! no sense of honor." he swallowed her right after that. the last one to go was Flicker. poor little thing. she kept jabbing him with her little Faerie Stick. LOL. as if! that's the only time i saw the Grim Reaper cutaway in the demo. pooh! i can't remember how powerful he was, but it was during my "expert" experiment. even on "normal" i lost 3 of my team. but i re-loaded on "normal" to get a strong "Safflower" with the highest number of HPs, so i had it coming. ::smiles:: V***V   |
One of the ways I beat "Saffy" was to use the spell "Guardian Angel" on the fighter and have him target the beast. Most of Saffy's attacks were ranged at him, and the Guardian Angel took all the blows. The others who got "nipped" were quickly healed by the priest. Also, the Monk scored a crit against him and K.O'd him for three rounds, which helped a LOT...that was just a stroke of luck.
But do use Guardian Angel...it's a great spell (a lot better than the "Vine of Life" one in W&W.) Cheers, |
In my second playthrough, I really had a tough time with 'Ol Saffy! (Saffy ROFL!)
It took many tries and finally having the characters he seemed to favor targeting use Potions of Razor Cloak. Nice potions! Every time he took a bite of them, he got damage from the "Razor Skin" the potions gave them. :D |
