Kaël 12-11-2000 12:13 AM

I think i would be Edwin but than chaotic good

Melusine 12-11-2000 11:17 AM

If you were a BG2 character, who would you be?

would you be innocent like Aerie?
bitchy but sensual like Viconia
no-nonsense mature like Jaheira
sweet n simple girl next door Imoen
posh upper class Nalia

old and battered Keldorn
sturdy but stupid -and hilarious- Minsc
whiny pretty boy Anomen
short funny guy who makes up for his size by his mouth like Jan
arrogant bastard with godcomplex and razorsharp tongue like Edwin
or..................

btw I know this is quite a sorry excuse for starting a new thread but hey! it's sunday night and I'm BORED!!!

The.Relic 12-11-2000 11:23 AM

I may be a bit prejudiced because I am OLD, but if I had to choose I would probaly pick;
Old and battered Keldorn. I would cash in on the life of death and mayhem and go back to my wife and children and build a life with them as I should. Leave the fighting to the young and daring. If you read his history, he did his part.

Melusine 12-11-2000 11:28 AM

oh sorry made a mistake

Melusine 12-11-2000 11:29 AM

Oh c'mon...45 isn't that old is it? Hmm...well maybe for adventuring it is...sorry!
I realise I forgot to reply my own post...hmmm...difficult
I'm not trying to dodge the question but I think I've some of the characteristics of all female NPCs..well except for Nalia I think
further than that I'd have to think...I'll come back to it some other time

ironfist 12-11-2000 11:32 AM

Melusine, you havent told me what you want to be?
Since I prefer being a human I would be Yoshimo! Hiya...

Melusine 12-11-2000 11:47 AM

Yeah like I said...I don't know...maybe some sort of crossbreed between Aerie and Viconia...I think I would be at least half-elven

>>>45 years old?!?!! so THAT's why you call yourself the Relic eh? You're a remainder of some long-forgotten era of our history...just kidding!

bilqis 12-11-2000 01:36 PM

Jaheira ... without the nagging!

Or Mazzy ...

but that's why it's fun to create your own character! You can be YOU, only better!

The.Relic 12-11-2000 01:59 PM

Heh, Melusine that is part of the reason that I chose this nick several years ago on other forums

cleric 12-11-2000 03:01 PM

I wish that i can be so innocent like Aerie .

stred 12-11-2000 03:31 PM

i vote for Edwin if he was chaotic good and then for Keldorn

Halscion 12-11-2000 06:11 PM

Haer'Dalis. His philosophy is perfect for a disillusioned programmer. He also seems about as flighty as a typical migrant analyst / conslutant.

Archmagi Wah 12-11-2000 06:15 PM

I would definity be that cheeky and boasty Anomen because when he failed to be a knight he said he wanted to go and kill all of the knights of the radiant heart. similarly the same feeling i get when you're stuck with a strict teacher for a 2 hour detention.

Vlade 12-11-2000 09:03 PM

Drizzt!!!!! he is a BG2 charactor only that u cant control him

Jerome 12-12-2000 12:18 AM

I'd be Her'dalis, young, bright and poetic! but thats me....

Yo! Relic! i like you, especially the way you delt with the *nameless flamer* but stop being so hard on yerself! 45 is not old enough to be considered a relic, live life for the full! i remember times when my behind was indeed kicked by men many years older than yourself......ah.....i mean they put up a good fight.....yeah......

Memnoch 12-12-2000 01:59 AM

In real life i'm definitely a cross between HaerDalis and Jan.

I can just see Armisael as Korgan

Armisael 12-12-2000 02:11 AM

Heh, I was thinking something along the same lines. Drink Hail, friends, and let Armisael flail the bladder fer a spell, aye?

Jaxonite 12-12-2000 02:55 AM

I would have to say that a Combo of Keldorn (Old & Battered) and Jan (Rapier Wit) suits me.
The wisdom and experience to really lay it on the self righteous, but able to boost the morale of comrades when the going gets tough.

BTW the.Relic, you're not alone. There are others of "our" generation out here playin' with the kiddies!

Suul-Yinn 12-12-2000 09:21 AM

Great Thread! Hmm, tricky, as I am an aging bloke, not quite a Relic yet, playing a female character, so I am not sure if I should pick a female NPC or male. Generally I am not a transexual, to my wife's relief, so I guess I will choose a bloke. Haer'Dalis is closest, with a bit of Edwin for good(bad) measure thrown in.

Armisael how can you be compared to a dwarf, I thought you said you were 6'7" tall for christsake. Just how tall do Aussies come?(no Freudian puns intended). Surely Edwin is a closer match, although you do occasionally show flashes of Korgan's temper, especially were he who shall not be named is concerned.

Memnoch with your in-depth knowledge, patience and general willingness to help, Elminster comes to mind, albeit quite a young version.

Melusine, with your signature, I thought you would say a female version of Xzar(?) from the first game, or is it just a soft spot for him?

Armisael 12-12-2000 09:30 AM

Perhaps I'm a cross between the two, hmm? Kedwin?
Unfortunately no BG2 character suits my persona incredibly well. Just try and imagine a big, uncoordinated, usually friendly, oft-times drunk man.

Magnus 12-12-2000 11:38 AM

I have to go with Keldorn. I've never actually had him in my party, because I play a Paladin. I'll be 45 in a few weeks and I'm not dead, yet. I still play hockey, fight full-contact Tae Kwon Do, but I must admit, I enjoy spending more time with my family. Keldorn comes pretty close. BTW I use his portrait. It looks a lot like me.

Glorick the Half-Orc 12-12-2000 01:09 PM

Well, I got "LG" on that alignment quiz, so a Paladin would probably be accurate. But Keldorn is too much of a simpleton for me... I'd pick Anomen but he is too much of a wuss... Valagar may be closer, but I'm white... I have no fetishes for Hamsters, so Minsc is out... Prob gonna have to be Keldorn.

Zenith 12-12-2000 02:07 PM

i'd love to claim the girl-next-door persona of imoen, unfortunately most others wouldn't agree. They'd liken me to a cross of jaheira and viconia. but really, i'm not THAT bad! just misunderstood

Kaël 12-12-2000 02:21 PM

Damn that twisted Stred you've got like the same as me again

Btw if you don't update your site it'll become the truth again
Happy new year hehe

Sebastian_Kell 12-12-2000 03:35 PM

Interesting Question I guess I would consider myself a cross between Korgan and Keldorn, it would also explain my Alingment of TN I care about very little so I suppose if you combined the two you would get me.

Suul-Yinn 12-12-2000 09:32 PM

Bump

This ones fun!

omegadawn 12-13-2000 12:21 AM

Cernd. I'm a nature-worshiper by nature and sometimes way to serious about life. Plus I have long black hair and some Native American in my blood so it makes sense from an appearance stand-point as well. Druids are also the AD&D class Ive most identified with and also played alot as a character in the p&p game.

Mandrake 12-13-2000 02:51 AM

Id be Boo, I tend to get nervous when gaffer tape and KY jelly are in the same room too!
Lol!

Zertyr 12-13-2000 05:11 AM

Edwin would probobly be the one who fits me. I allways
end up playing the mean one in games, to balance up
all the good guys.

But I can tell, its kind of intresting when my char
wants to beat up some poor monk praying for my soul
as my group stands in between...

BaatoRyan 12-13-2000 07:05 AM

Well... I think I would go for the good lookin Haer'Dalis coz I wanna be as cute as him!!! Well, I am not a hunk, but a great dreamer! hehe but I would like to be Keldorn... a battle hardened, fulfilled, and well revered... who has a wife and children, but the prob is his wife wasn't that loyal and he doesn't have enough time...

Hoggar 12-13-2000 07:17 AM

I'd be Valygar Corthala. I don't talk much, I'm fairly earthbound, I wouldn't mind living in a cottage by some hill village, I have relatives that should have been dead long time ago and a pack of wizards wants me dead.

Perhaps I got a little over-eager in the end.

WOLFGIR 12-13-2000 07:25 AM

Hmm, Wolfgir is Wolfgir, and Wolfgir Is a bit like Vahylagar(stupid name!!) and with a mix of Haer´Dalis , except the theatricle aspect.. espacially after some intoxinating drinks at a bar.. (Yeah, I do have a life apart from BG2, but it´s not well used though..)

Armisael 12-13-2000 07:29 AM

That post had too many lines in it for you to be alikened to Valygar, Hoggar. ; )

Hoggar 12-13-2000 07:55 AM

Laf Armisael... actually I tried to come up with more similarities, but I soon found out that the only thing I know of dullguy is that he has some bothersome relatives and doesn't talk much.

Arachnia Vandriel 12-13-2000 07:59 AM

I'd be a cross between Edwin and Jan, fools would get a tongue lashing and a half from me

WOLFGIR 12-13-2000 08:03 AM

Look up the word mix ok...

Memnoch 12-13-2000 10:12 AM

Suul-Yinn - Elminster??? Ye be daft, man! Besides El doesn't like helping people...maybe I'm more like *gulp* Alustriel of Silverymoon *aaahhhh*

I really wanted to be like Jan...

fruz the impaler 12-13-2000 11:23 AM

i would be Kivan from BG1 i dont need a reason, do i?

Melusine 12-14-2000 10:08 AM

BUMP

grrmbl (~mutters under her breath~) God I really hate this: I post a topic, get a few replies, can't get online for a day and when next I come to this page, 36 people have posted interesting answers to my thread, which has sunk to page three so that I'm unable to answer without BUMPing

cleric 12-14-2000 01:46 PM

Melusine , are you a Necmancer our some thing ?
