People,

The Yahoo user group UAForever has a chat room how about setting a date and time to get together like Sundays. Great place to brain storm and swap ideas and get to know each other.

I can't get yahoo chat to work. I suspect it's mostly b/c of firewall settings on our server, so I don't expect to be able to get it to work, either.

I think It would be better if the people came here, as the messages are always here, and those of us in different timezones can still communicate with everyone.
I mean, Ziroc did set up this forum for a reason, and I think we should take aadvantage of that and use it like as it was intended. ;)
Not that it isnt used, but I know now that there are lots of people out there that could use this place which is fast, better looking, and has no adds ;)

I think everyone who posts here would agree with you, Hivetyrant. :D We've just got to convince everybody at yahoo...

Who runs the group? Maybe we could *Convince* them to close......
:D

manikus 02-07-2005 03:14 PM

I think closing it would be bad. There are a lot of people that for whatever reason don't come here, including DC's creator.
Plus, the 20MB of upload space is nice, too.

Funny. I don't go to yahoo ever. I figure the forum connected to CocoaSpud's main site is the way to go.

manikus 02-07-2005 10:58 PM

That would be cool, too. I don't think CocoaSpud has too much interest in running a forum though. :D

Odd. I was talking about http://uaf.sourceforge.net
as CocoaSpud's site and the forum link there. That IS CocoaSpud and Dungeoncraft's primary site isn't it? Don't tell me I'm confused.

manikus 02-08-2005 05:43 PM

If you're confused, it's b/c I was being confusing.

When you said a link on the official site, I was thinking of one that WOULD BE to a forum that CocoaSpud ran just for DC. Not b/c there is anything wrong w/ this forum, other than CocoaSpud doesn't seem to read it anymore.

A lot of people go to the yahoo list, b/c they find out about DC on the yahoo list devoted to FRUA. Several of us remind them all the time that the forum is here and it's great...

Maybe delegating the two forums to different tasks would be useful.

Yahoo= Hosted modules discussion and files.

Ironworks= Development, bugs, and ideas for implementation.

Hivetyrant 02-08-2005 10:06 PM

Thats a good Idea nec5, though we need to get the Yahoo people to agree and then actually do it...

manikus 02-08-2005 11:02 PM

Maybe the division could be along the lines of designers and artists. We could talk about mods here, and art at yahoo, where we can upload it.
The problem with only talking about bugs here, is that CocoaSpud is on yahoo.

To be honest, I think having both places for everyone is an asset. I don't want to tell anyone not to come here or not to go there. I want more people to come to both. :D
