My project is currently at halt till "Stuart \"Sslaxx\" Moore" completes testing my game and sends me via an email *.doc of all the spelling/grammar corrections. If I continued before I received them it would be harder to revise things as the game would become bigger. As soon as the spelling/grammar is corrected, further development would be resumed.

Foody!
I'll get to work on the grammar/spelling. I've downloaded the design. If there's anything else you want me to do, let me know. |
Nope that's about it :D
|
Hmmm... Cocoaspud, could you consider allowing an 'export events list to text file' feature? The prospect of checking through EVERY event through that GUI for Foody is, frankly, terrifying.
|
LOL!!!! That is the funniest thing I read in my entire life MWAHAHAHAH!! :D You KICk ass man...heheheh! I tell you what...I will go ahead and lessen the load for you, I will send you an email today or tomorrow with a *.doc of all the text in the game without going through the hassle of editing every single event via GUI. In fact, from here going own till the game is completed I will lessen the load for you big time....I will always send you a *.doc file with all the text in the game. By the way I am adding your name in the credit with a hug enormous thank you :D

Hey guys
Just an idea that Richard can add to the to-do list and get it done some time down the track. We could look at having an event export function that exports all the events in the game to a file similar to what FRUA had - and in some ways people could even use the printouts to play a pen and paper version of the game!! Like I said, just an idea and Richard could put it on the list - but as a low priority at the moment while he and others work on this awesome program!!!! Cheers Warlock |
Well, there is an option to export all event text for the current level. Is that what you're looking for?
|
Hey Richard,
Yeah, that sounds great, maybe a little inconvenient if you have a lot of levels to export to file but I suppose it would work. Cheers Warlock |
The option is already available... "Log Event Text" in the "Level" menu. It is saved as "levelxxx.txt" in the design folder.
This reminds me of a couple of other questions I was going to ask: 1. Can someone explain what "validate level" does? 2. Is it possible to "renumber" the events in a module (each event has its own number, but where events have been deleted, those numbers are never re-used. I am wondering if there is an option to make the first event that still exists "number 1", the second event that still exists "number 2", etc.)? |

After you validate, there is a text file created in the design folder called 'Verify.txt' that contains the error details. I don't really think the validation is useful yet, but it could become useful with some more work. The event numbers are one thing I can't mess with. The number used by a deleted event won't be reused until you create enough events to roll over the maximum event number. The max number is 2 billion, and only 16 million events are allowed, so there should always be a valid event number available even if we need to roll over to a lower number. I could add a switch to hide/show those numbers if you like. |
