I could just keep churning out generic versions of the various classes in my pics and some of the monsters but that would just be boring. Anybody need anything. Just post it here and I'll consider giving it a try. Be reasonable. I know everything there is too know about D&D but, If its from something outside that realm give me some details on it. I can't make any promises but I'll try and make an effort to help anybodu out. I'm slowly building my first module. But with updates and holes still in the combat code and spells i'm holding off for now. So While i'm not working on mine I'm more than happy to help anybody else. Within reason.

Oh and if you didn't know I have a graphics site for dungeoncraft click the link below to see my graphics

I am wondering if you would do me a favor by creating couple of pictures for me? It would be really awesome if you would be able to do that...I am really looking for a golden key picture, normal key picture, daemon key, fire key, fly wings, torch picture and a dead man's elbow. I am hoping if you would please help me with these pictures it would be greatly appreciate it?

manikus 03-20-2002 11:15 PM

ooh! ooh! i've got some!

i could use some pics of 'taurs- both minotaurs and centaurs. i've got some icons for mintoaurs that i would love to have pics of, these include the default minotaur icon from ua, a minotaur mage wearing dark blue robes and a minotaur berzerker wielding a very large axe. i've also just completed some icons of centaurs (which i'll upload this weekend after i get my taxes done. promise ) which include a red-haired leader type, a centaur in plate mail and a centaur archer.

thanks in advance for any that you do, i am sure that they will be just awesome! (just like the work you've done to date, my friend!)

if these don't sound appealing, or you just want a lot more ideas or whatever, i was looking at the list of monsters in the monster database that comes with dungeon craft and noting that about 3/4ths are still using the ua art for icons, but almost all are using the ua pics or don't have a pic at all. (i would just love to see pics of goblinoids, elementals and rakshasa :D )

i'll also take this opportunity, for anybody still reading this long-winded request to extend an invitation to the dungeon craft community to post requests for icons they would like to see. if it's not in the 2nd ed monstrous compendium, i'll need a description, but i'm willing to give anything a shot.

But I don't know if anyone is willing to point where I might find the pictures that I requested above or hoping to make for me?

Lord Killjoy 03-22-2002 01:27 PM

a dead man's elbow? you mean just a picture of a corpse elbow? rotting or bloated?

Ok insect wings comeing right up. keys might be a little tricky elborate a little more on what you want. A key with a dragons head at the base something like that? Centaurs will take a little while but That can be done. I've experimented with a minotaur by ripping the head off a cow and sticking some horns on it then attaching that to top a human body turned out pretty well when I tried it the first time. And I've already got a real big axe to use. I might give that another shot. give me a day or two and I'll see what I can do. Plus Water and earth Elementals and a ice elemental (which may just be the water textured differant oh well)

ICONS Needed for dungeoncraft:

Githyanki
dragons's in all the colors
death knight
ogre
here's a interesting one INSECT SWARM
Giant Rat can't have a sewer without them
Shambling Mound
Ghoul
Ghast

Ok how about this just open up the monster manual and start at A then work your way to Z That would be nice :D joking! But it would be nice HEHEHE. Can never have enough Icons never know what you will need.

Picture of a cropse elbow, as for the keys here their description:

Rusted key: The key is extremly rusted, it's amazing that it's still intact. (The key is a normal key but rusted and the head of the key is half broken)

Golden key: The key is made of pure gold and from the weight of it you could predict that it's worth lots of money. (The key has three teeths at the end and the head is shaped like a heart)

Silver key: Not much can be told from this key, it is just a plain simple key. (This is a plain old key, just make a normal key with no exceptions)

Jail cell key: The jail key is useful in rescuing Mr.Branvil from prison. (The key is like the olden days key of midevil, heavy and big with a carved J on it's round head)

Key to the daemons castle: The second you touched it, it screamed painfully into your ears and errupted into flames. Your hands got burned so you threw it onto the ground; now you lost the key as you can't pick it up anymore for fear it might hurt you. (This key is red it has a head of a daemon with sharp teeth)

Serpentine key: The key is twirling in a zigzag motion with the head of a serpent and a tail of a rattlesnake. You could swear the eye's of the key is alive, it is dark as dark can be and it has this unique aroma. Deciding it is best not to gaze it at for too long so you placed it back in your pocket, all a sudden a pinch of pain occurred at your left thigh where you placed the key. (The description says it all :D )

Skeleton key: This key is made of pure human bone, the thought of it terrifies you as you touch it with disgust. (Once again the description says it all)

Fire key: The key is made of fire, but when you touched it you felt nothing. It is illuminating a little bit of light not much like the torch you have. (Once again the description says it all)

Lord Killjoy 03-22-2002 02:09 PM

Thanks foody can't make any promises on the more elabprate keys like the fire but I'll see what I can do.

PLUS added some big pictures too my site and have about 20 more item picutures to be uploaded yet. nothing spectacular but good for filling out those item pictures.

manikus 03-22-2002 08:12 PM

i think i can do something about the giant rat and the shambling mound and maybe even a dragon or two.

i've thought about going through the monster manual, but i always end up getting distracted reading the entries. :D

ghouls and ghasts are already on my short list- along with zombies and vampires but, it'll be a while as i'm kinda slow at doing icons.

Lord Killjoy 03-25-2002 01:38 PM

Sorry didn't get to any of those graphics this weekend I'll try to take a stab at them this week. Too many projects and not enough Time. I need to clone myself.

Out of curiosity, Killjoy, you considered doing those "Doctor Who"/Ultima pics/icons I requested on your site's message board? If you need reference pics beside the ones I pointed you to, I'll be happy to help.

Frankiedamn 03-28-2002 12:15 PM

Hey killjoy would it be to much to ask for a frair type character and some templar looking knights. keep up the great art!!!!

Thanks!

I'll add more default monsters as new icons become available. They just can't be scanned/retouched originals from the AD&D books. I have monster definitions for all of the FRUA monsters, I just don't have the icons for them.

manikus 04-22-2002 06:51 PM

out of curiosity, what default frua monsters still need icons?

CocoaSpud 04-23-2002 08:47 AM

Originally, I imported the FRUA monsters into DC. Then somebody converted all of the FRUA icons into DC format. I went with that for a while, but later got worried about the copyright issues with the art. By that time, you and Dan had created some original monster icons and I removed all default monsters except for the ones you guys had an icon for.

I guess the answer is, we need icons for the remaining FRUA monsters. The list is a bit lengthy, but you can see the original default monsters in this zip http://frua.dns2go.com/DC/UAMonster.zip. That is what we started with, including the original icons. Compare that to the default monsters in the current release. There is a list of them in the monsters.txt file in your root installation folder, or, any starting design will have them listed in the monster editor.

manikus 04-24-2002 07:01 PM

hooh boy! there were a bit more than i thought left to do.

i do have icons of earth elemental, giant rat, shambling mound and troll up on my web site if you want to check them out, richard.

now, i've got my big list of things to do. :D i'll let everybody know when i've got more done.

No I'm not dead but new job and girl is keeping me busy. Don't know when I'll get around to any DC art. Maybe I'll steal a few free moments this weekend.
