OMG! i must say it again! OMG!
i love easy tutu.

i just decided to replay the entire BG/ToSC/BG2/TOB/ saga and installed easy tutu. it's yum-yum-eat-em-up beautiful.

Interesting... when I installed Easy TuTu, everything was close up. But you have everything far away. I might just have to install it again :D

vesselle 08-02-2006 04:33 PM

could be my resolution, too. i run at 1280 x 1024. i'll test it by lowering it and see how it looks.

Neo the Warrior Cat 08-02-2006 05:00 PM

It's the resolution.

BG1 had a really small resolution, while BG2 supported (unofficially) some pretty high resolutions. And you're playing with the BG2 engine so.....

CerebroDragon 08-02-2006 05:32 PM

It looks better with the classic BG1 GUI installed though, I reckon. More nostalgic and much more true to the source.

I immensely enjoyed my first EasyTutu BG1/Totsc experience, (only recently finished) with barely any bugs encountered at all. The BG1 NPCproject adds some nice dimensions banter wise and complements it all fairly well too.

nah, can't be that, neo the warrior cat. it looks the same no matter what settings i use.
one thing i've noticed, may be a bug or not... i can't use the map pins, even tho the readme says you can. no biggie, but still...

CerebroDragon 08-03-2006 01:23 AM

Hmm, you should be able to. I'll have to check...

When you bring up the map, are you right clicking on where you want to place a pin? That should bring up the the list of them so that you can choose what colour and your text up the top, then click done and you're done.

Aye, just confirmed. Works for me.

Bithron 08-03-2006 06:21 AM

So, where can you download this?

Edit: Nevermind, found it. :D Google D'uh..

Aye, just confirmed. Works for me.

yeah, i know that's how it works in soa/tob, but it's just not working in easytutu for me. :( small enough bug that i'm not gonna worry about it... but still...

CerebroDragon 08-04-2006 05:55 AM

But Veselle I tested it in EasyTutu - it works for me...strange that it doesn't for you. It might well be the GUI mod I mentioned allowing me to do it and that pin functionality wasn't implemented in that particular version of easytutu. Hmm, tis odd!

Just in case you or anyone wants to test the GUI mod, here's a link:

well, i got my first crash! and couldn't use any of my saves. (i have about 125 of 'em, too. yeah, i'm just a teeny bit obsessive.) so i got all ready to uninstall and reinstall, when i came across a bit of advice on the ppg forums... i tried my autosave. it worked!
the only drawback now is that i MUST play in 800x600.
still having a blast, tho. :D

Well, according to the website...
http://www.pocketplane.net/mambo/ind...=143&Itemid=98

..you can't use EasyTuTu unless you have TotSC installed. At least that's how I interpret it.

vesselle 08-24-2006 10:26 PM

just use BG1TuTu instead. it does the same thing, but you don't need to have ToSC installed. it's not as easy as EasyTuTu to install, but pocketplane has good instructions on how to do it.
there's also an enhancement pack for BG1TuTu, so get that too.

BG1Tutu

have fun!

I've downloaded Tutu haven't played it yet tho.

Does tutu fix grand mastery so that it is the way it is in BG1? or does it nerf it as per the BG2 game engine (which is what i'm guessing)

if so, would somebody please be able to point me to a grand mastery fix that works with Tutu? lol even if they all do i'm looking for one.

Also, can you baldur dash tutu or does the fix patch fix most of the problems in BG2 that baldur dash addresses?

thank you all you helpful veterins lol

xander12402 08-28-2006 06:10 AM

Elfbane and Vesselle,I managed to install easy tutu without installing TotSC and have just finished playing thru BG1 and about to start BG2 and ToB, so it possible to play without TotSC.

vesselle 08-29-2006 01:04 AM

oooh, that's good news! i hope you had a great time with it. i've got to finish durlag's tower and then go back to give sarevok what-for, and i'll be heading into BG2/ToB. :D

YAY! i can't tell you how happy it makes me to play thru the entire series again.

xander12402 08-29-2006 04:31 AM

Oh i certainly enjoyed it, but I think on a lesser level I enjoyed being able to pause the game AND look in your backpack, I know there are a lot better things about it and there is probably another mod that will allow you to do it but hey its the little things that make a difference.

Rockstar 08-29-2006 11:20 PM

does tutu fix grand mastery so it is the way it is in BG1? lol

and where is a patch for grand mastery! lol

Liked Tutu mode too!

The only problem is, in BG1 when you pick LARGE SWORDS proficiency you get all swords. However, in tutu (since it uses bg2 engine) you have to pick 2-handed, longsword seperately..

Well, think about it- longswords and two handed swords(plus bastard swords) behave differently. One fighting style doesn't necessitate knowing another. Bastard swords are close enough to be lumped in the same category (I think they are).
