According to this CNN article Marvel's going to kill him off. Who's to say if they don't put someone else in the costume, or find some way to resurrect him, but it just doesn't seem right, imo...

SpiritWarrior 03-07-2007 08:15 PM

It doesn't. I saw it this morn on yahoo news. I have a feeling they'll do a reborn thingy or put someone else in the costume like you said.

Kill captain America ....why those dirty ...

the magazine must be having poor sales, so when do they release his comeback issue? *cynical*

To think that the first comic book mags I bought where silver surfer and captain America oohhhhh so many years ago (about 35!!!!)

Luvian 03-14-2007 11:19 PM

Luvian look at all the gratuitous shots

This comic is fuelled only by teenage male hormones apparently.

SpiritWarrior 03-15-2007 10:36 AM

Unfortunately marvel do this, for male and female chars. In Spiderman you see it alot. It is annoying to me personally, since all I wanted was a good story and they're showing Spideys ripped abs and flexible body in his skintight suit at every opportunity they find. But yes, marvel has added alot of sex appeal to their array of heroes, male anmd female.

Nightwing 03-16-2007 08:59 PM

It is interesting to look at the progression comics have taken. in the 60s and 70s there was not much violance and in the 80s we had more violance but no blood and not many deaths and then the 90s hit and we have blood everywhere and sex appeal.

Harkoliar 03-17-2007 06:34 AM

NightWing check this out in the example of blood

ummm.. dunno if its suitable for very young people. (up to you mods)

Speaking as someone who works at a comic book shop, I can say that sales have been going up fairly well ever since the Civil War story arc began. This event with Capt. America is more like the peak of a resurgence rather than a desperation ploy.

It is also worth noting most comic customers I see are 18+, so it makes sense the art work would have a mature edge. Of course comics have ratings these days too, so there is something for everybody.

Luvian 03-19-2007 01:01 AM

Yeah well... I wouldn't say a closeup shot of a cartoon girl's almost ass is exactly mature, neither is drawing hard nipples.
